OMG - First Peek Ultrasound is offering a Black Friday Deal of $20 off any package...but the catch is you have to book your appointment for Friday or Saturday this week only. Book early, they don't have a lot of appointments left. I saw the add when I was searching for deals on Google. I think the code is TRKY20 or BLCK20 or something like that. I'm sure you could call them and find out. their website is http://www.oakparkultrasound.com
I've been once already, but I'm planning on going again with family this weekend. I can't wait!!!

Is this post for those who are overlooking the fact that 3D prenatal ultrasound for entertainment is not FDA approved???

Great deal if you live in Oak Park, IL, are expecting, and care what your unborn child looks like in 3D!

Hey kaultra - I can understand your concern. I was concerned at first too, but I did a lot of research on this and found that although research has been done on 3d ultrasounds, no evidence has been found that they are harmful to the fetus. From my understanding, its just sound waves bouncing off the fetus. Of course this isn't something that a woman should do all the time, but once in a pregnancy should be ok. After all, women who have high risk pregnancies get these done almost every week, and that seems to be fine. But of course, I am not a doctor and if anyone is concerned they should talk to their doctor about it :)

And yes, a deal is a deal :)

brownie.... this entire post is about the 3d ultrasounds for ENTERTAINMENT!!!! So, these are not the fetal surveys that "need" to be done. these women have already had that ordered by their doctors..... This facility will take you if you have the $$$ you do not need a doctors order to get in. My point is not that ultrasound is unsafe to the fetus, but don't you wonder why the FDA has not approved this use of ultrasound for entertainment??? These facilities are not regulated at all. They do not even always have registered sonographers. I don't feel like I'm being negative at all, there are plenty of OB/GYNs who will advise against these medically unnecessary ultrasounds. It's just something to think about.

WOW, I actually live like 5 mins away from this place but i am a bit confused as to why someone needs to pay for such a service?

When we had are son about 6 months ago and went to a regular dr visits to do are normal ultra sound, One time when we were there after they did there normal ultra sound and what not the tech did something and we seen are son in 3D color. It was really amazing.

Can you just not ask the ultra sound tech to view your baby in 3D on your regular schedule appointments to the Dr? I am a bit confused.

Hi, well...i guess you could ask your ultrasound tech, but not all of them will do it because insurance doesn't cover it. but this place is something nice to do with your whole family, and you get tons of pictures, a cd and a bunch of other stuff...

All Ultrasound machines don't do 3D baby imaging.

I paid to have a 3D ultrasound done... I was 30 weeks pregnant and we got some amazing pictures. It was my first pregnancy and I just wanted to do it to have it done, I was miserable during the last few weeks of my pregnancy and I wasn't working either so this was really just something fun to do ...and I couldn't wait any longer to see what he looked like either hahaha. My ultrasound office did not have the 3D technology so we opted for this. Like I said, it was an amazing experience. He popped out looking pretty much like he did in the 3D pics taken 10 weeks prior.

I've been pregnant 4 times-2 of my children are here with me, and 2 never made it as far as being born. I was a high-risk pregnancy 3 of the 4 times, and the 2 of the 4 times that we made it far enough, I had enhanced ultrasounds from week 18 on. However, my last pregnancy progressed pretty "normally" (other than me having hyperemesis & having to be put on medication so I'd stop puking & losing weight) and the high-risk OB discharged me earlier than he had when I was pg w/my daughter-so I didn't think I was going to get those cool 3D pics of my son. My regular OB's office didn't have that kind of u/s machine before, so I was all set to go to Lexington Fetal Fotography & pay for the pictures. Luckily, my OB informed me that her office had a newer machine & she could get the pictures there as part of one of my visits.

OP-thanks for sharing the deal...After traumatically losing a baby, then several years of fertility treatments, having our daughter, more treatments, a miscarriage & being surprised with our son, we love all deals baby/child related!
