View Full Version : Last Minute Secret Lowe's Deal: $999 Samsung Washer / Dryer Deal That Matches Sears BF Pricing (No 110% Match)

I just learned, Lowe's sent mgrs a memo with a last-minute addition: Samsung front-load washer (4.0 cf) & dryer (7.3 cf) for $999 for BOTH.
You probably read the LONG SD threads re: an old Sears F&F special on the Samsung washer - dryer pair (model 218). They are front-load, XL-sized models rated highly. Look up WF218AW. Sears had them for $899 for BOTH on F&F night, and Lowe's matched the price. Some even got a 110% price guarantee, or movers discount, veterans, etc.
Sears BF ad shows it at $999.99 (scanned on SD). I went into Lowe's this afternoon to check on an advance order/match (who wants to stand in line on BF, anyhow?). Dept mgr said they were honoring the sale but no 110% match. While we talked, I SAW THE MEMO ON HIS DESK ANNOUNCING THAT LOWE'S WILL SELL THAT PAIR FOR THE 999.99 PRICE, AS THEIR OWN LAST-MINUTE BLACK FRIDAY DEAL. THEY HAVE SIGNS READY TO POST AFTER CLOSING ON WED.
The BEST NEWS in this is that the sale runs THROUGH SUNDAY, as opposed to Sears Sat & Sun only. You can take your time looking at other BF offerings (HD, for example, selling a smaller LG pair for the same price). Also, many prefer Lowe's for other reasons -- warranties are half the price, service can be more reliable IMO, etc. YMMV on this.
The manager was adamant that he would NOT be accepting movers coupons etc, but I don't know how corporate could back him up on that  ....
Anyhow, haters of BF crowds and/or Sears seem to have another option. But Lowe's beat Sears at their own game, getting out of any claim to a 110% price match guarantee.
Good luck, everyone!

ONLY FRI - SUN, BUT I DON'T MIND. (Here's why...)
Well, the appliance senior salesperson gave me his card with his email address. We confirmed that my correct contact info is already in his computer (I buy from Lowe's often enough, I suppose). He said I could email him anytime from Fri am through Sun, and he would take care of the order on-the-spot. Obviously, he'll have to call me for a credit card number, of course.
Since Lowe's is now calling this deal their OWN (not PM to Sears), there's no more 110% PM. I'm still looking for ideas like moving discounts, gift card deals, etc that might bring this down a little more. (Ideas, anyone?)
By snubbing Sears, I know I'm missing out on the 5x$20 GC I could get at my local mall with a Discover card. It's just that I hate going into malls on BF. And hate Sears, for that matter (you wanna ask me about the Calypso washer they sold me?!?).
Also, speaking of "ideas, anyone," I'm still deciding whether to take the Lowe's warranty (very good IMO) or going cheap-skate with Squaretrade. Thoughts, SDers?
Thanks.
Postscript: you can check the hot deals forum for more info on the original deals (thread #1) and also on this new Thanksgiving Wknd twist. (Apparently some folks got Lowe's to do the sale AND the price match, I expect before the memo came down from corporate.) I suppose everything in retail is now YMMV. FYI.

Does anyone know if Lowes will hold your purchase until you are ready for deliver?
I know Sears does. Last time I bought from Sears, I told them our house was still under construction and if they could hold on to my purchase till we were ready for delivery.
They did and had no problems.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned in any of the threads (even though its in the ads) is that this price is for the electric models, white only. Gas models and colors are more. Still great deals though!

Wow, thanks. I didn't even look to see if they were electric or gas.
I just looked at price.
Darn... really want a gas dryer.

Sears has an online ad now with the blue for $180 more. Think the gas was also advertised but at a higher amount.

Used this add Sears Add (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/dap_10153_12605_DAP_Laundry+Pair+Offer?adCell=A3) tonight to pricematch at Lowes. Not as good as last week but that was last week. Got the blue set for 1,062.00 + tax after price match and extra 10%.

I am still deciding whether I want to pull the trigger on this. I visited my local Lowes this AM and talked with the appliance guy and he confirmed that they would accept the 10% off Lowes coupon. Since Lowes has priced the Dryer at $210 and the Washer at $789 this is the price that rings up in the system without adjustment, they would accept the coupon.
On the warranty issue.....If you go with SquardTrade, that is based on the price of the appliance. If anything happened with the Dryer, you could get your $210 dollars back but probably couldn't get a replacement dryer at that cost. With the Lowes warranty, you could get a full replacement. Anyone have thoughts on this? Help me decide on getting this or not!!!!

[Actually, we justed ordered the kitchen appliance set and asked about them holding it for us (we purchased our samsungs from sears and theyre holding till mid next year until our house is ready) and Lowes informed us (on 2 different occasions) that they only hold things for 60 days. On a side note though, buy 1000 in gift cards, get $200 in free gift cards, so it's totally worth the deal!

At my store in Colorado, they don't have it @ $999. I had to use the ad, and the manager would not take off the additional 10%. He said the price was already below cost and he couldn't do that.
Now, I'm deliberating if I go through with calling Lowe's Customer Care.

It's worth a try! He told me they had it in the system as $210, but then again it may be tied to the purchase of the washer. You can call and give them the dryer item # and see how much they quote you.

I pulled the trigger and bought the pair. Got the pair, dryer cord and the 4 year extended warranty for $1200. They accepted the 10% off coupon and I got the 12 months no interest. They have to order them, but I'm in no hurry.
If anyone finds or has some pedestals they want to sell, let me know.

What 10% off coupon did you use?
Did you get the set for $999 or $899?

It was one of the 10% movers coupon, you can usually find the on ebay. Got the both for $899.

I tried using the 20% off coupon I got from eBay & the guy said no-go. I did buy it, however. Great price. Now I just need the freaking pedestals. What a joke!

Matching Pedestals - 195 each
Vent - 9
4 prong wire - 18
Delivery - 79 (rebate available)
3 * $20 rebate for purchase of 3 $100 gift cards (valid for up to 3 per address).
$15 off !50 purchase
total out the door including tax and minus my rebates will be $1636
thanks OP.

These are also stackable, fyi. I think we are going to stack them instead of buying the pedestals. Or I will just make a wood platform out of 2x4s and plywood and paint them white. No way I'm paying that much for a pedestal for a washer and dryer.
This was an awesome deal though, thanks OP!!! We desperately needed a new set.
And kudos to Lowes for offering this deal even though they weren't in stock and offering it for so long!
