Anyone pick this up...? What do you use it for and how do you like it so far?

I've read some bad things and some good things but theres not enough info on the net with this piece.

Im gonna try and hook it up later but Im worried about using it for gaming. Even though its 720p...Its still a Westinghouse and Ive seen stories about them...

We picked up 2 of these for my inlaws, as we were at Target in line anyway at 5:30 am. They hooked one of them up and it was immediately clear that the picture was sub-standard. They have multiple other LCD TVs in the house, including one that uses the same cable jack that they hooked this up to, and the picture looked awful. Very grainy and lots of pixilation. We returned both of them.
In this case, can't even say "you get what you pay for", because even though $299 was a good deal, it doesn't justify the picture being that bad.
The service rep at the returns counter told me they had many of these returned already, and this was only on Sunday.

I picked this up on Friday and have been very pleased with it. We upgraded from a 26" Sony tube TV, but I have other LCDs in the home and this one turned out better than those (Toshiba 19" and Dynex 14.5").

I'm most pleased with the DVD setup I have. It's a memorex HD DVD hooked up with using HDMI. In all the setup cost me less than $325 (cables and all), and I'm pleased with it.

I have heard there is a high lemon count with this TV, though, so that might explain your situation.

The insides are built by Sony, though, so if you get lucky with one that works, you'll be set for a while.

wow! We were trying to decide between this one and the Samsung 23" at OD. Glad we went cheaper and smaller with less issues.

I think a lot of it has to do with how you have the TV hooked up.

I have this hooked to a Standard Definition coaxial line, and I am not that impressed by the image. However, when fed a good source (try hooking up an upconverting DVD player via HDMI) the image is fine.

I just hooked up this up as a computer monitor and I think it looks pretty good. Maybe a lm just astonished at how big this sucker is compared to the 17" LCD I have been using for the past 3 years. Yet to play some computer games on it to see how it handles the graphics.

I picked this up strickly for the size (I've got an old armoire that I put the tv in), so knowing my size limitations, I wasn't too picky about the picture. I've been pleased with the picture on it so far - I had heard terrible things and read mixed reviews. The picture on mine is sharp when using the antenna or connected to a dvd (with HDMI) - a little grainy when looking at comcast cable coax cable. I had a 19" vizio temporarily in the space - and thi sseems better (but I'm still a little worried how long it will last).

What I noticed, is that the black on this TV pretty much sucks...it is a very bright black.

Since Im using this as a computer monitor, the highest resolution this has in 1366x768 which is kind of an oddball for its size. Probably gonna return this thing for something with a higher resolution.

thats the resolution to every 720p tv, a few people make 1080p 26" tv's, that would work out very well as a monitor. there was a 28" monitor on sale a few days ago, i forget the exact resolution but it was like 1600x1220 or so, that thing would be sweet to have

IC. Still...the desktp icons are way too big on my screen.

I saw that monitor on sale too, I think it was through tigerdirect.

I picked one up on Black Friday. Use it as a computer monitor for my spare PC and as a TV for my office. I like it. The resolution is good. Have my PS2 hooked up to it with component cables and it was definitely worth $300
