i actually work at petsmart and corporate sent out messages indicating that we are not allowed to accept this coupon and the $5 off $25 i think it was that was posted a couple of weeks ago..... a manager will actually come out and speak to the customer with these coupons - you don't get in trouble but you get a lecture and also its embarrassing!

Agreed, If I have a coupon I'm not sure about, I seek out the mgr on duty and ask....Tonight I pulled out the $10off science diet 'high energy' 40lb canine and asked if it was ok....sadly nither of us had ever heard of it, and they sure didnt carry it lol...so .then I asked (even though I knew) about the 150ff50 from october and he said sure thats fine no problem....so I gained some trust from him and with all the coupons I pull out at the register I want all the help I can get!!! Tonights score, $65 worth of various cat and dog food for $6.50...That 150ff50 is really a jackpot if you use it right....::woot:

Yes, it is embarrassing. I used the $10 off $20 coupon once and went back about 2 weeks later to try another one. I usually will only use these printables once and only if I think they are legit. I did think this one was as I have had these type of coupons on occasion from Petsmart. I usually spend so much in there anyway since I have a number of cats (and some strays that I care for). The first time worked w/no problems. The second time, I placed the coupon on the conveyor belt before the items I was purchasing. The cashier picked-up the coupon, read it and put it aside as usual to ring-up my purchases (I had about 20 pkgs of cat treats). She rang up each one of the cat treats and then said, "I know you probably won't like this but I can't take the coupon -- it's a fraud." I usually don't get upset when a deal falls through because like so many other sd'ers, I've gotten in on some really great deals and some NOT. What did upset me though, was the fact that she took the time to pick-up the coupon, read it, set it aside and never once said -- oh, by the way, I can't accept this coupon. Why on earth would she take it, proceed to ring-up 20 pkgs of something and after totaling the purchase, then tell me she couldn't take it. I work very long hours and have very little "down time" so my time is precious to me and it just irked me that she would waste both her time and mine when she could have told me immediately. I would have understood and completed my purchase w/out the coupon. Instead, I left w/out purchasing the items (even though I needed them and knew they were going to cost more elsewhere).
