I got a new phone from AT&T in May and sent off the rebate form.
My rebate finally came in September in the form of a Visa card.
It's my fault, but I didn't remember or expect the card to expire in November. The card is a useless (?) piece of plastic in my wallet now.
I was looking through a blog post I found on the matter that mentioned state law concerning gift cards and "credit memos". I live in Florida and while I'm slightly confused by the legal jargon, think it's illegal for gift cards and credit memos to expire, or at least they have to be good for at least 3 years. Here is a link to the site where I found the info on expiration of gift cards and credit memos. (http://www.ncsl.org/programs/banking/GiftCardsandCerts.htm)
How should I go about reactivating my rebate card, if it's possible? Would it be better to take it to an AT&T store, call them, or e-mail them? Anyone else have trouble with something like this and can offer any tips?
Thanks.
