I bought the linksys wmb54g for $20 on amazon about 2 weeks ago. The thing works perfectly with the xbox 360. Setup may be tricky for some, but it's been great so far.

I went with a Linksys wrt54g running dd-wrt and I have it in bridged mode. Works great with the xbox 360.

It may take a little work but buying a router that is compatible with dd-wrt and using it in bridge mode is the cheapest and best adapter around. Go to http://dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv3/index.php and find a cheap compatible router. You will find instructions from there on how to use it for a bridge. The only down side is that using a wireless router takes up more space.

I'm in the same boat right now! Have to plug it in every time I want to play so the wife or I don't trip on and and rip the router or xbox out of the cabinets.
