This probably should be posted in a different section.

As to the HD-DVD player... Its up to you. There are several important things to keep in mind.

1. HD-DVD is a "dead format" - This means that they have stopped making new HD-DVD movies. So if you want brand new High Def movies, you would need to Blu Ray player.

2. This is a Xbox 360 Add-On.. I assume since you said you were buying Rock Band you have a Xbox 360. In order to use this you have to own both.

3. You might be able to find a HD-DVD player with a bunch of movies on your local craigslist for cheap.


With those things said, there are some great deals on HD-DVD movies. But you need to buy some soon because these sites are getting rid of their remaining HD-DVD Movies. FRYs, Inetvideo.com & Amazon are your best bets for HD-DVD movies. Most HD-DVD movies go for about $5-$20.

Just posted Fry's latest deal on the add-on HD DVD player (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=388694&t=1085930) over yonder. It is an especially good deal if you want both BG S1 and Heroes S1 boxsets in the bundle.
