Need help finding a great deal on a plasma or lcd hdtv 50 inch or bigger. I think that I want 720p since I will be more that 10 feet away while viewing.

I would go to Sears and look at their 720p collection.

Does it have to be plasma or LCD? You can get some great DLP deals for 1080p sets in the bigger sizes for much less than a flat 720p even.

You may want to look at the Panasonic TH-50PX80U. It has 3 HDMI vs. 2 for the TH-50PE8U. Additionally the TH-50PE8U has a native contrast ratio of 10,000:1 compared to 15,000:1 on the TH-50PX80U. Sears recently had it on sale for $899. Currently Fry's has it for $898 but not sure of the tax or shipping to your area. Vann's has it for $999 with free shipping.

Ended up buying the Samsung PN50A450P1D from frys. They PM Microcenter $850. Just hooked it up and it looks awesome!
