I have a Dell dimension 3000. I just bought a 23" Samung monitor that has 1920 by 1080 resolution. The highest resolution available on my computer is 1280 by 768. I want to get the best out of my computer by getting it full 1080p. Do you have any cheap video card suggestions. Thanks.
If your specs are: Celeron D 2.4GHz, 256MB RAM, 40GB HDD, XP Home
Then your computer probably won't be able to play 1080P HD content. You can run the resolution for normal computing, but will get a slide show when trying to play 1080P videos because your processor is weak.
Also on CNET it says:
The bad: No AGP slot; does not deliver competitive feature set for the money; weak performance; not easily upgraded.
WIthout an AGP or PCI Express slot you can't upgrade your video card and are most likely stuck with whatever you have built in your motherboard. Unless you have a PCI slot and can find those super ghetto PCI cards from the 90's.

Thank you for your help. I think I might end up just buying a new Computer. I am looking for a decent amount of space. Nothing for gaming or anything like that. Just surfing the web fast. Any suggestions?

Did you try updating your video driver? That might also do the trick for now. MIGHT
