Hi,
I think combining home & auto will save money on insurance.
How can I save more money or are there any deals out there too save money on insurance?
It is really getting expensive to get all these insurances.
Thanks.
Who do you have now and where do you live?

Who do you have now and where do you live?
I live in Chicago west suburb.
I have GEICO for auto & will need home insurance soon.GEICO gave me a quote for home with its partner(I think its Travelers) .
Thanks.
We my first advice would be to check rates with a smaller non-national company. i.e. in Pennsylvania, Erie is hard to beat. However, they are also very strict and will drop you like a hot potato after your 2nd claim or in some cases after one claim if it's large enough.
Secondly, whoever you choose, check their customer satisfaction ratings with JD Power (http://www.jdpower.com/autos/ratings/autos-insurance) or smiilar. No point having insurance with a company who won't pay out when you need them. They also have a page with 10 tips (http://www.jdpower.com/insurance/articles/10-Easiest-Ways-to-Lower-Your-Car-Insurance-Rates-) on saving on auto insurance.
Here are their pages for the home owner insurance satisfaction survey (http://www.jdpower.com/Homes/ratings/homeowners-insurance-company-ratings) and tips on saving money (http://www.jdpower.com/insurance/articles/Homeowners-Insurance:-How-to-Save-on-Your-Policy-and-Find-Additional-Home-Insurance-Discounts-) on it.
By the way I am very much anti-Geico due to their rate policies. They go back 7 years whereas other companies only go back 5. They penalize for no-fault accidents whereas a number of other companies (Progressive for example) do not. They require a credit check be part of your quote whereas many other companies make it optional. Every time an official inquiry is made on your credit score, a few points are shaved off. Anyway, I would definitely seek rates from other auto insurance companies ASAP. The companies I have always found to be the most competitive are: State Farm (if everyone is over 25 and driving records are near perfect), Nationwide, Progressive (this is who I have) and 1-800-SAFE-AUTO. Geico wanted about $900 more per year than Progressive for the same coverage.

We have Ameriprise through our Costco membership.
We saved well over $350 a year when we switched to them about 5 years ago.
