Amazingly, this is still available - I just signed up my husband so I can have an extra copy to give a neighbor ( she distrusts the free magazine game and prefers me to order them in my name - all those renewals that look like bills freak her out!)
Usually when Town and Country is up, even for a limited free sub, it gooes POOF within a day or two.
Jump on this peeps!

I wonder if you have to cancel at some point to prevent from being charged?

NO - you NEVER have to do that with offers from mercury, FreeBizmags (also known in SD Slang as FBM) or from the rewardsGold offers.
Sadly we have a few Slickdealers who insist on posting Not-Free Trial offers as if they were truly free and that is waht causes users such as above to distrust all postings on slick deals. Many of those fake free issues or limited subscription offers only say they require to write cancel on the sub AFTER you have signed up for them or in such teeny tiny print that a newer user might not catch it.
I implore all slick dealers to knock off posting Trial sub offers that carry legally binding obligations to pay if you fail to follow all the canceallation steps properly. Those are rigged in favor of the publisher and I know because I used to work for a group of mags that employed this tactic successfully.
Rules of thumb:
1. If you are at all worried about an offer, don't do it until you ask questions and a user you trust gives you the all-clear
2. Never sign up for or post Free Trial subscription offers - if it requires you to agree to be invoiced, it ain't worth the time or trouble you may have getting them off your back.
3. DO trust Freebizmags, Mercury magazines and RewardsGold - these are genuinely free "sponsored" subscriptions from distribution organzations who have years long track records of delivering totally free subs to users here. RewardsGold was formerly known as MagCentral. You may also trust ValueMags and StartSampling. Those last two have also been delivering dozens of free subs a year for many years without any hassle to users.
4. Read the two Mythbusting threads. They tell you all of this and much much more. You can find a link to the Freebizmags Mythbustying thread in my signature and in that thread, you will find a link to the Mythbusting RewardsGold aka MagCentralthread. You can also simply search on the word MYTHBUSTING
Again, even though this is a 3 issue sub - it is trustworthy and comes from a reputable distribution company. go for it!

This states it's for 3 months. I have not received my first issue yet, but I did get an offer in the mail for a "research" discount of $10.00 for 1 yr, 12 issues. However, it states the 12 issues are for 1/09-12/09. So, if you include the 3 issues I have yet to receive, it's really $10 for 7 issues. I hate when they send you back issues when you start a subscription. But $10 is still good if you like to look at how the other half lives:lmao:
