I purchased the Asus 1000HA in December from an Ebay seller and he assured me that I could get in on the rebate because the item is new (sealed), UPC would be on the box, I had the form, blah, blah, blah....
Anyhow, I noticed on the form that it says "reseller auctions will not be honored". I tried contacting him and he still stated I could get the rebate, "just follow the instructions on the form". I told him I need something resembling a B&M store receipt and now he's just ignoring me.
Am I just out the rebate???? Does anyone have a receipt they can scan for me or can you not do that?

It depends on who the reseller is and what his return policy is, whether you have used the item yet, how big of a rebate it is, and if it would warrant trying to return the item or filing a claim through paypal and returning the item. Some legitimate authorized retailers (mwave, buy, etc.) sell on eBay and those rebates would be valid. Need to post more info here (if the seller was an authorized retailer, how big the rebate is, would it be worth trying to return it etc.) before deciding on what to do next though.

I love the laptop so I really don't want to return it and yes, I have used it. I've only had it a couple of weeks though and the seller sells TONS of them so I'm sure he's telling everyone that he is an authorized "dealer".
There was no packing slip, just your standard Ebay emails and confirmations and Paypal receipt.

Well there is always a chance that he is authorized. I bought a pool sweep one time on eBay with a $200 rebate and it came through so there is always a chance you'll get your rebate fulfilled. Can always try and send it in using the eBay order details page and paypal receipt to be sure or contact the rebate house if there is contact info on the rebate form and ask them first. Hard to make a call without knowing who it is selling them though to be able to research it more.
