Looking to get 4 dell desktops for a friend opening up a business. Only real deal I see is the 20% off inspirons and 25% off studios. Does anyone recommend studios over inspirons or are they pretty much the same quality build. If inspiron's are the way to go, do you suggest the 530's over the 518's or is that just what looks nicer to me?
I'm looking to spend around 700-800 with a 20''/22'' screen and dedicated video card. The studios don't come with an option to run XP on it while the inspirons do. Will it be hard to find the drivers for the hardware on the studios if I will do it myself. Should I go for an Inspiron with vista just to be safe cause I know having XP on it is possible. I do not want to get him 4 desktops with Vista promising him I can get XP on it and then get stuck with Vista.
This is one setup that I have built:
PROCESSOR Intel® Core™ 2 Quad processor Q8200 (4MB, 2.33GHz, 1333FSB) edit
OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Service Pack 1 edit
OFFICE SOFTWARE Microsoft Works 9.0 edit
WARRANTY & SERVICE 1Yr Ltd Hardware Warranty, InHome Service after Remote Diagnosis edit
MONITOR Dell E228WFP 22-inch Wide Flat Panel edit
MEMORY 3GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz (4 DIMM) edit
HARD DRIVE 640GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™ edit
OPTICAL DRIVE 16X DVD+/-RW Drive edit
VIDEO CARD ATI Radeon HD 3450 256MB supporting HDMI edit
SOUND Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio edit
KEYBOARD & MOUSE Dell Entry Keyboard and Dell Optical USB Mouse edit
MEDIA READER No Floppy Drive or Media Card Reader edit
MODEM No Modem Option edit
After coupon comes out for $799.00
Thanks for anyones help.
Also willing for other suggestions except building it myself; I really don't feel like building 4 desktops for someone else and having something go wrong and get blamed for it.
