the lowest price I have found at Abes of Maine no tax and they ship for free. does anyone know of any other places that sells tv's pretty cheap...the only other company that sells a few $$ cheaper is amazon but they charge me tax so as of right now abes wins the prize.
also, with superbowl coming up soon do you think the prices will go up or down???
thanks

You may be able to hold out for a good deal come superbowl week or if you really hold out when the new 2009 models come out later this year. I bought my LN46a650 at Sears for $1599, then PM to Frys.com best price a couple of weeks ago, $1399. With Sears specials for 10% with sears card and PM +10% diff, I got the TV pretty cheap. $1599 - $220 (PM +10%) - $138 (10% for sears card) = $1242 + tax (local pick up no shipping). This should have been my deal, but the lady messed up at the counter and gave me a PM of $1199 so I got $440 (PM +10% discount) - $116 (10% sears card) = $1043 + tax (10%) so my final cost on my sears card showed up at around $1150. I was extremely lucky, but the $1242 deal was still the best I could manage and I have been following this TV since before BF. If frys doesn't charge you tax, then $1399 +FS isn't a bad deal either. If you have a local Fry's, then I would try to wait for the sale and get Sears to PM it. One thing to note, Sears has a 30 day PM guarantee, so even if you buy it today as Sears.com $1899 (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_05771065000P?keyword=ln46a650&sLevel=0)right now (+ you get the 10% off with sears card deal online (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/v_10153_12605_Computers+%26+Electronics?adCell=A2) with mail in rebate), you have 30 days to find a deal at a better price, plus you can pick up in store like I did. Their only catch is the PM store has to be a local retail location so if you don't have a Fry's or Abes or Grant's or one of those other stores, you may have to rely on CC or BB to get your PM. But they will honor the online prices for these stores. I recommend going on a weekday night when they have the less "tech savy" people working in the electronics to get your PM. That is how I got my deal with the typo the girl did. It saved me $200+. Here is sears PM link (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/nb_10153_12605_NB_CSpricematch?adCell=AF). With the Superbowl deals coming up, this may be a safe bet for you to make to start enjoying your TV sooner rather than later. **I forgot to mention, when you go in to PM, take a print out of the online PM guarantee (from the link) and the TV in the cart of whatever store you were going to buy from or the ad from a local paper. They sales people didn't even know they did PM or 10% of the difference until I showed it to them!! No wonder sears will be out of business by next year. **
Either way, this is an amazing TV. I have it set up with Xbox 360, Samsung upconverting DVD htz-310 surround sound, Wii, and soon to have a PS3 for Blue Ray. The red is suttle when watching TV or movies, but looks pretty sweet in daytime when there is a lot of ambient light. It doesn't take much calibration either, it is pretty solid out of the box. The auto-motion is over rated except for watching football in high def though. The info link and extra HDMI and contrast ratio made it worth the extra $$ over the 550 series to me though. This TV will not dissapoint and is worth whatever wait you have to endure to get it. Oh BTW, the glossy screen is not a huge issue. I have a condo with floor to ceiling windows and the only time is has been a problem is when the the sun is coming in right on the TV, but that is with any TV no matter the screen. I watch movies and most TV with lights dimmed and never really notice any glares more than any other TV.
Good Luck and Happy New Year!

Those links turn up blank pages here. Better to go straight to the Sears site. The 10% rebate with Sears card, good thru Jan 3, applies to purchases over $999. That rules out the LN40A530, unless possibly if something else is purchased.

Well, I didn't have quite as much success, but it was still a decent offer. I went to my local Sears and PMed with B&H, which was no problem (although the 10% is off the difference in price, not the actual price of the item). I also went ahead and signed up for the Sears card; however, I was then told that the PM could not be combined with the 10% offer on the card. I did look at the T&Cs and for the Sears card and it does say "May not be combined with any other credit promotional offer". I was offered 24 months with no interest, but that wasn't such a big plus, so I was a little peeved that I had already signed up for the card.
Had I known that they couldn't be combined, I would gone ahead and just Purchanced (http://www.purchance.com/merchants/sears)it online and emailed them for the PM.
But all in all, I'm happy....

Thanks so much for the heads up. I didn't read it through all the way before purchasing at the store. You got repped!

While looking for reviews on this tv, I found this website:
http://www.prestigecamera.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ID=9942322&l=Everyprice
The model number here says LN-46A650T, I'm assuming that it's the same tv and that T there doesn't mean anything.
What do you guys think about this? That price is pretty low compared to all the others. I actually live in the same borough this store is physically located in, so I'm gonna call them tomorrow and maybe swing down there sometime in the near future.

Red flag #2: It's a TV at a camera store.
Red flag #3: Reseller rating of ZERO :bigeye: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Broadway_Photo
If you've never heard of a site before, your first stop before even thinking about making a purchase should be resellerratings.com. From seeing a lot of these deals in the past, you'll find that the "store" is really just some office space (or maybe just a PO box).

Yeah, it's looking real shady. Thanks. Repped

It never hurts to try. You can ask them before you purchase the TV. I tried to take a similar ad into the BM Sears store when I bought the TV originally and they wouldn't give it to me since the store didn't have a retail location near by that I could walk into and purchase it. They called the company to verify (which is funny, because they didn't call Fry's when I PM a week later). Like I said before, go on a weekday evening/afternoon and you may get lucky have a novice salesperson that lets the deal slide and puts money in your pocket. If you could get it from this site, that would be one hell of a SD but I wouldn't recommend buying from them.
Good Luck!
