Found this in a Reader's Digest article. www.booksprice.com
The web site will allow you to enter in the Title, Author or ISBN and then provide you with a list that includes price and shipping costs for a bottom line at a glance.
With my son starting his next semester, this will help (cough) to try and keep some of the costs down.

International textbooks are almost always the same with the following exceptions:
Paperback Binding
Black and White
Slightly thinner pages
Localized Problem set (i.e. in accounting, prices are in pounds, rupees, etc. while in engineering most problems/examples are in metric, no english units)

not meaning to be a big spoil sport, but http://www.bigwords.com has been around for about 10 years and does the same thing. Still a +1for you though.
Works much better than I expected. The results are up-to-date and the search engine offers great flexibility.
Thanks OP, and repped.

Nope, not always the case. Especially in case of Accounting or where there are case studies, the examples might be more localized where the book is printed. So a US edition will have examples and problems based on US data while an international will have a different set altogether. Happened with me in Accounting and Economics. I will verify before buying international editions now.
Also try www.bestwebbuys.com

I guess I have no experience with accounting. Most international engineering textbooks comply with my guidelines, but I remember that most of them use Metric only problems...thanks for reminding me! Will update my post.

I do like this site. It gives me tons of options plus it saves my other searches so I can try to figure out a book budget. At least this semester I just have to get three books unlike last semester where it was seven books (not including all the literature I ended up getting at the library!). Ugg...the life of an English major! :P

I use textbookrevolt.com. This site lets people exchange books for free. Get rid of the books you don't want and get the books you need. No money needed at all.

Thanks! You just saved me $25 by buying a textbook from amazon.co.uk instead of amazon.com.

I usually use www.book.ly to buy my books. They are a bit different as they already seem to know what books I'll need for my classes at my school. So all I do is type in a class and they list the books that are required and optional for my class with price comparison at half and amazon.
They seem to have a handful of random assortment of schools that they actually have class data for (UCI, Ferris State, Boston University, Brandeis University, several others).
Also a friend made some money from them. Apparently she emailed them asking when they'll add support for her school and they replied back saying they would do it for the previous semester if they find a campus rep or something. She had to do PR for them but they shared a third of their revenue from their school with her. It wasn't a lot but she didn't really do much either but made about $300.
