Hmmm, didn't work for me. I signed up, but at the end was prompted to open or download a .pl file.

The site uses a perl script called pdf_loader.pl to load up the PDF document that contains the book. Do you have Adobe Reader installed on your computer?

That's like a double oxymoron.
Microsoft telling people how to write secure code for an insecure OS they wrote. Hah.
Thanks though OP.

Couple of comments about the link above ...
1) This "direct-download" link worked for me ONLY when I pasted it DIRECTLY into my FreeDownloadManager (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org), and it worked perfectly (FYI: e-book is 15.4MB).
2) When I browsed (Firefox 3) directly to the link, I got a sign-up page, then a download page for "selected chapters" of three different books.
3) I got this SAME "direct-download" link after going through the SAME sign-up page (also successful), from the OP's original link.
Dunno if I'll make any real use of it (still running XP, not doing any "professional" development at the moment), but I'm a sucker for "free" e-books! :)
