So I am currently looking for a good Balance transfer credit card and my search is coming up dry.

My question is, can I use a card with 0% APR on purchases to purchase the dollar coins from this thread: http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=192286&t=1108644&highlight=coins

and then use the coins to pay off my high interest card?

Is there anything I am not seeing?

More than likely you can't. Usually there is something in the terms and conditions that you can't use it to buy cash. And the mint is considered cash. And you may get charged a cash advance fee

If I were you, I would paypal yourself some money. I have done that with good results.

But then you get charged PP fees correct?

That's absolutely not true.

When I've bought direct ship coins from the U.S. Mint, they post as regular purchases which earn points and are subject to the same interest rates as purchases.

GREAT way to get around the balance transfer charges, OP! Repped!
