Thank you for the responses. The studio one does seem pretty good now that I've looked more closely at all four specs. And I'm not seeing the Studio XPS 435, can you (or anyone) post a link?

i know i'm not alone, but i prefer AMD over intel. based on pure specs, i like your first computer. on a blackberry so dont feel like going back to the thread to C&P the title. dual-core now is your best bet. OSs cant properly allocate 4 processors, let alone programs written to handle 4. good luck.

as far as bang for your buck, i didnt look that close..

I would take the 1st due to the AMD processor. I have always been a fan of Intel but I am going more towards quieter and cooler rigs now and Intel just can't accomodate. Also, they are not worth the premium price they charge over AMD.

Scratch the Bluray burner unless you're ready to pay $10 for blanks. Imagine the anger, frustration and cost for each coaster.

Aside from that, good luck with Vista and owning a Dell. :x

What about a computer from ibuypower.com ?

I'm thinking of getting this:

-Raidmax Tornado Gaming Tower Case w/420W Power Supply
-Standard power supply

-[== Quad Core ==] AMD Phenom X4 9550 Quad-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology

-AVC Silent AMD CPU Fan and Heatsink

-MOTHERBOARD: [SLI] Asus M3N72-D NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, IEEE 1394, USB 2.0, Dual PCI-E/HDMI MB

-4GB memory

-VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT 1GB w/DVI+TV out

-1TB hard drive

-Blu-Ray, CD, DVD drive (just reads Blu Ray)

-Basic soundcard and videocard (from NVIDIA)

-20.1" LCD monitor w/DVI

-Wireless

Keep in mind I'm still ignorant of what much of this actually is...I merely recognize key attributes. The price is roughly $1204. What do you all think?
