When you find a Safeway coupon you like on their website, even though these come up as a coupons.com link, you can check the websites of their other stores and in many cases print additional coupons from the other store's links as well.

A coupon database is available at www.Families.com once you've registered there. Good resource for checking availability & location of coupons for specific items you're interested in. (Thx to errickson for the info!)

Also keep in mind the Entertainment Book typically has money saving coupons for Safeway listed quarterly. And, if your store doesn't object, these coupons do not beep based on dates (i.e. the 11/07-06/08 is still valid).

Coupon use at Safeway
Safeway usually issues store specific coupons via various formats...newspaper ads, mailers & emails. You can sign up for emails on their website.

Their coupons tend to scan fine at any store within their brand, even if the stores are not in the same area. For example, Tom Thumb coupons work at Randall's, and vice versa.

Their coupons also tend to scan fine at any store within their brand, even if the coupon says it's good only at a certain store. The best example of these are the ones issued when a store is remodeling or for a grand opening.

Usually, their coupons scan fine when you are using two different types of their coupons on one product. For example, $1 off Tide from a newspaper ad and $2 off Tide from some other source. This only works when the two coupons are obviously different (check the codes). I am not sure if it would work if you were only buying one item and trying to use two store coupons. I've never had a reason to test that.

Their coupons can be used in conjunction with manufacturers coupons, even if that causes an overage, although they won't pay you to take products out of the store! :lol:

Some stores don't accept internet printable coupons, there is a corporate policy on what coupons they take, and some stores follow this policy to the nth degree. If you get to one of these stores, try the store down the street, it is probably much more coupon friendly.

Manufacturer coupons for free or bogo items tend to attempt to give you credit for the price of the item without the card discount, but they usually beep for the cashier to approve the coupon.

Self Checkout lanes (SCOs) are a great way to get out of the store quickly. You can use your coupons except all BOGO, FREE and coupons over $3.00 (may be $2) require cashier intervention. This can be a hassle if you have very many of these type of coupons.

Stores in different areas have different promotional deals regarding the doubling and/or tripling of coupons. If you see someone commenting on it here, you need to check what your local store does.

And while coupons may scan fine, the cashier you're dealing with can make any of the above YMMV. :)

In order to insure that we accept only legitimate printable internet coupons, Safeway has adopted the following store policies and guidelines:

• Do not accept coupons that do not have a manufacturer’s bar code or manufacturer’s redemption instructions.

Coupons may be rejected if they appear to have been altered in any way. Printable internet coupons are nearly always printed using the same technology and therefore have a standard format, with very specific security features, including a unique serial code.

Ok credit for this goes to Skibum but since he hasnt posted it yet I'm going to go ahead and take the credit - On the SCO at Safeway if your coupon doesnt scan you can manually input the numbers using the enter PLU function. Basically its the option where you would enter produce. This is a super handy feature and I had no idea that it worked for coupon entering

So does everyone else know about redeeming gas points at Arco? I've paid little attention to gas deal b/c it's so far to nearest station. Then went to closest gas last night (which we're blessed is cheapest gas around here). There was a TV screen above pump, playing an ad about SW points. And said below "redeem here"!! Searched "arco" on this thread- no results. I've been using all my cards to do HTH several times and don't have a lot on any one - $300+ is the highest. Time to buy GCs! Just an FYI for those with Entertainment books, the $5 off coupons have worked for me regardless of the quarter they are listed for.

I didn't get my book until March, but the first quarter one worked fine (YMMV, of course)

I have never had any cashier look at the dates on my Entertainment Book coupons. They are soooo tiny.

Can someone tell me where the Free Glade peelies would be found? Which product would they be attached to? I have never seen this elusive peelie before in my life. I know the $1 off olive bar tearpad has been mentioned before - I used it for the first time tonight. Got 4 pieces of red pepper (was mixed in with cloves of garlic but I picked out the pepper only). It rang up on sale, .64 and the $1 Q sailed right through. Yay! There was a new provolone and proscuitto stuffed banana pepper item, but it looked bigger than a dollar's worth. :lol:

Well, I went to SW today and me and DH did separate transaction at 2 different registers.

My part was all done with $4 OYNO cat from glade deal. For some reason my items were less for HTH :confused: I got emerald pecans and handed cashier planters even thou there were beeps .. lol .. he managed to get $1 off :doubleconfused: both cashier and me !!! lol

DH's part: He's new to all these Qs stuff so even when i handed him some Qs, the cashier messed up ( i don tthink cashier was new to Q :mad:).. he didnt scan the coke Q (free with 3 Hallmark cards) and charged him $3.50 even when he handed him the coke Q and also he didnt get the $4 OYNO cat from glade deal.. i didnt notice coke price wasnt deducted immediately but when i asked for $4 cat, he went back to get it, thinking the cashier might have forgotten to hand him out but he came empty handed saying the machine was out of order.. now I come home and after like freaking 6 hrs realize that coke price wasn't deducted.. should i call 1-800 SW or go bac tomo to the store.. i dont think going bac would help .. but first i need some of ur suggestions here !

Call Catalina. I think it's 1-888-8coupon. They'll just take some info from your receipt and send you the $4cat (got one today). Unlike all these other company CS :bonk:clowns, they're nice to you!

call the mgr, then go in and get it taken off your receipt! Calling mgr first helps give you credibility, in case some clerk thinks you just got the MQ - altho even if that were so they should let you use it. .Maybe call CS first, sob it up & maybe it will help you get your 10%.

I did the Kohls gift card at Doms in Chicago. As soon as I scanned the gift card, the $10 cat came out. It seems like you have to do separate transactions. I wish I had known about this before I went there- I could have done the $100 ones for a $20 coupon. Mine will be good on Friday!

You should have had the rewards showing up on your receipt each time you shop. Hey, when you call customer service to politely complain about their mistake, this is a GREAT time to ask that the ten percent discount be attached to your card.

Yup, listen to Nikolas; you can use q's on the $25 part. But, as always, it is store-dependent, as in YMMV on store attitude about this. At my store, they allow me to use the $/$$ off first, so I can easily bring a $30 order down to pennies with the right coupons. For instance, tonight (or last night, rather), I used a $/$$ first and then the $5 floral second.

Some catalinas were printing out and I thought I saw the HTH $10 Catalina. The cashier held up a catalina advertising wipes and said you don't need this one do you and I said no and she handed me another catalina. I just assumed it was the $10 HTH Catalina. As I was walking away I looked at the catalina and is was not the $10 HTH. I went to customer service and they gave me a $10 rain check to use the next time I shop. As I thought about this more I think maybe the cashier kept my catalina. Now I am really bothered by this and wondering what I should do. I guess I should call the catalina company and see if a catalina printed.

I believe from what I have read....35 gallons or $100 discount...also from what folks have posted...you can do two cars at once by parking them opposite to each other. This is what I will try next since now I am up to 1.40 discount....so perfect for my car and DH's.:woot:

You are correct. To do this right, park two cars exactly opposite one another, where the gas tank on both cars are directly across from one another in the opening between the gas pump and the columns holding it up. Have car #2 totally ready to fill up while car#1 is filling up (ie, gas cap off). Then you need to be 'on the ball' watching for car#1 to fill up so you can move the hose over to car#2.

At that point, I think I would go into the store - or call them on the phone - and talk to the manager about why their prices are so uncompetitive. If they're offering the fuel rewards as an incentive, their pricing is shooting that idea all to heck. Sometimes though, with everything the managers of these stores have to do, thinking of the small details that tie two things together are missed along the way. Ditto on this. Last time when I bought gas at with my 5 pts discount, I got it for $2.28 (God, I was happy with that price), but in the evening, when we had dinner with our friends, they mentioned Gas at Costco for $2.29. Oh, I was so mad with that. No bother with Gas promo anymore.
However, my store changed to get $1.50 gas card with every $100 purchase, so I have no reason to be mad with them any more.;)

Whenever I do a HTH deal I always ask the cashier if the green light is on and I explain it's because I will get a cat for doing that promotion. Clear and simple. I've had cashiers "forget" to give me my cats in the past but never when I tell them I'm expecting it.

I do the same esp since half the registers seem to have "down" catalina machines, such a pain.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Blinkie machines will be changed out starting this weekend. So if there are any coupons that you are still needing get them this week. I'll post a list of the new coupons going into the stores as soon as I get it.

Valid in CA, MI, KY, LA, WV, ME and NV. and it also says save $12 on 4 bottles, $20 on 6 and $50 on 12 bottles.. blah blah blah... doesnt say we have to purchase at rideaid.,., purchase at safeway might be eligible and might be a better deal while they are having 10% off on Liquors ... this insert has fine prints and they are so fine that it;s hard for me to read... any1 else go that ?? They do have another MIR saying $25 MIR on $50 liquor purchase and has a list of liquors!

If you were to buy 2 bags with 2 coupons, you'd have 7oz of crispy onions for less than a buck. Isn't that a better deal than French's French Fried Onions 6oz for $2-something after q?

Well, just as an fyi, the other day I couldn't add, so when I got to the front to use my 10/50, I thought it strange that my total oop was so much lower than I thought it would be. I had figured it would be about $14, then it was only about $4. Turns out my total after remarkable savings was only $41, instead of $51! Coupon went through without a hitch though. :omg:

Good eyes, Pink! I cannot read the 1st one, in red. My insert has 5 MIR. Some say CA only. $25/50 includes beer. Heck, might find those receipts vulturing for RA reciepts (suprneko enlightened me to this practise!). And find lots of 12 pk cartons in the local park for upc's.

I used the floral coupon today and it didn't beep. I bought the poinsettia which rang up $5.99 (was marked $4.99 but I didn't notice) and the coupon didn't beep. I didn't notice the date on mine so not sure if it says 11-26 for beginning date or not but went through with flying colors.

If the coupon says safeway coupon, I don't think you can..Learned it the hard way..I was trying to buy a Safeway GC with the HFTH cats and they just wouldn't go through..I thought I was all so smart trying to save the $2 that would be deducted from my 10% off if I use these two $10 cats on my regular purchase, so I had the bright idea :shake: of buying a GC first and then using it on my purchase..Didn't work out..

But glade cats went through for GC purchase since they are manu q's..

Yeah for some reason the reynolds handivac is going on sale alot of places for around 5$. That thing used to be like 5$. If you have the 3$ peelies for the handivac it makes it a good deal. I just used it once and it works good so far.

That was missusg's idea, to get the potting soil! :bulb: So clever. I did look around for a long time in floral, saw some glass pebble things, some nice pots that would work for gift baskets (but was way too $$), I hate that practically nothing has a price sticker there. :annoyed:

He even tried to re-ring up at another check out counter to get the cat for me but it did not print either. He ended up gave me $3 in cash, so no lost for me but I just wonder is there any flavors that is not qualified? The Ziplog brand vacum starter set is $4 at most places. There was a $2off tearpad Qs (I found mine at Albertson long time ago). I used those Qs at Kmart double Q day and got the kit for free. Last week, I used the rest of my Qs at TG to get the vacumm bags gallon size for 50 cents. The Q went beepless.

not usually. there's sometimes a 1pg ad in weekend paper with 1-2 good prices, and some booze deals.
prices are usually the worst all year Friday-Tues after TG.
1st 2 weeks of Dec. usually slowest weeks of the year so there's not much incentive go have good sales. Some baking items may be cheaper than this last week. But I'd plan on buyng just perishables.

Speaking about flavor: All the sorbet, and yoghurt are part of the deal too. After a bad experience last night (the Cat did not print), I was a little bit hesitated to pick those "not tradidtional" icecream, but I finally decided to try again today and they all worked. The Mango sorbet is delicious. Have not tried other flavor though.

Yeah for some reason the reynolds handivac is going on sale alot of places for around 5$. That thing used to be like 5$. If you have the 3$ peelies for the handivac it makes it a good deal. I just used it once and it works good so far.

Even when I do my darnedest to clean out the shelves of all the Handi-Vacs with peelies, SW just keeps restocking more with peelies. One can almost not keep up. :D

Which GC is that? I'm not sure if I've seen such a GC that can be exchanged for another gift card at Safeway.

Oh, look for them then. They are blue/white and have a gift wrapped in blue with a blue bow on the front. They are called My Choice gift cards and can be used as a Safeway gc or exchanged at Safeway for any other gift card that the store sells.

When I exchange CATS for gcs I usually get My Choice cards instead of Safeway cards because it gives me more options at a later date. Like the Safeway gift cards, they can be loaded with any amount.

Never did it but would be actually kind of nice as a gift idea because the recipient can exchange them for a gift card of their own choosing. (That's the whole point I suppose....but I just buy them to get rid of CATS.)

To me it seems to mean that Safeway's gas promo is going to be available at Arco to those Safeway customers who have no Safeway gas station anywhere close. I don't think that this is a nationwide thing where you can CHOOSE to use either Safeway or Arco or BP.

Awesome! I passed up TONS of peelies at the Randalls by my mothers house because I was with her and it just so hectic plus I couldn't remember whether the plugins were part of the deal or not.. Just used two Randall's floral Qs on two $2.59 potting mixes. Yay! The $2 roasted chicken Q beeped. It rang up as $5 HOT CHICKEN or something like that. No probs getting the cashier to manually enter it though.

If so, the Kelloggs Rice Krispies would overlap between HfH and this one. SO, you could buy 5 Kelloggs Rice Krispies and they would count as $12.45 towards the HfH promo, but you'd get an automatic $5 off for buying them. :)

Considering I have $1 Kelloggs coupons I didn't use the first week Rice Krispies were $2.49, this would be a sweet deal!

Well Thanksgiving is over and I got a super deal on gravy! To anyone who wanted some I will mail it out to you today. I do not have any left as the last few packs were requested this morning. In my experience, only coupons that are coded with "992" do not beep on items that are less than the coupon value...

Buy 2 and get a $2 ONYO and a $1/2 Caress was the deal, They were $1.79 each. Combine with Q's and a good small MM. I use 1/2 a bottle each night in my bubble bath...LOL Smells better than gravy showers.
