I suggest you save more money. Decent receiver can't really be found for under $300, sub-woofer that isn't junk will cost at least $200, so you should decide what one component would make the most difference to you and start with that.

You haven't really given a clear statement of what you have. Do you have a CD or DVD player? Are you listening to music (or watching videos) now? Are you saying you have two speakers connected directly to your TV? Are the speakers connected to anything?
I feel like I came in at the middle of a story and don't know the beginning. What do you have now? Don't make us work so hard to guess what your situation is. Say what you have, what you want to accomplish, what's wrong or a problem with your present set up?

I have energy c-100s i have nothing else. I want to play music from a computer or ipod, which I have. Cd's are a bonus but not a necessity. I dont need them for my tv. So i need a sub and a way to play music. Sorry for the confusion.

If the source of your music is an iPod and/or a computer, I believe you are heading in the wrong direction. I would be shopping for powered speakers sold for computers, they would also be appropriate for connecting to an iPod. Many of these come with a subwoofer . I have such a setup made by Altec Lansing connected to my computer. They run from $70 to $500. Here are some for $113. http://www.buy.com/prod/logitech-z-2300-multimedia-speaker-system-2-1-channel-logitech-z-2300/q/loc/111/10380060.html
You might find others that would include a iPod dock as part of the system. I am not familiar with the speakers you purchased, but they probably need to be powered by an amplifier or a receiver. Return those speakers and spend your money on a system appropriate to the source of your music. Do a Google search on either "iPod powered speakers" or "Computer powered speakers" and shop around.
Good Luck.
