Laptop for $250 or less?

Okay Slickdealers, I need your help! My co-workers laptop died and he needs a new one. He didn’t know jack about Slickdeals so I said I would post a thread for him and see if anyone could help. Come on people, help me brainwash …errr…. I mean convert another person into obsessing over loving Slickdeals. :bounce:

Laptop criteria (if possible):
- $250 or under
- 14” to 15” screen
- Pentium 4 or equivalent
- Wireless
- 512mb ram
- 40 GB hard drive

If you find a laptop that is close but not exact to these specifications please post it anyways.

Doesn’t matter where you find the deal (eBay, Tiger Direct, etc.) and coupon codes are accepted as well. Refurbished laptops are welcome as well. Love and reps given to those who help!

Since he's looking for Pentium 4 + or equivalent, that gives you a vast number of possibilities. You can select laptops from like 6 years ago to current. Best bet is to check ebay/craigslist. You can definitely buy a pentium 4 for under $200, possibly under $100 if you're lucky. Plus you can definitely buy an used dual core laptop for under $250. Stay persistent, don't panic, which will lead to overpaying, and you'll find a great bargain.

I have seen pretty good deals on ebay, but you need to know what to look out. I had to return a computer that was bought on ebay. But I have seen really good deals there.
