Hey guys just signed up for some classes while I'm in Tucson for a bit, but I am week late and have no idea where to get used textbooks. Please recommend something online or B&M! :)

i love you slickers!

try ebay half dot com and look for the sellers offering the shipping upgrade from Media Mail to priority or first class. Good luck!

Also, is there a good service for renting these books? I mean I just need it for the semester. But, that might be just as much as a used book for all I know.

I'm in roughly the same situation, and I found BookRenter (http://www.bookrenter.com/). I was looking at Chegg, but there's a fair number of complaints by users out there. Myself, I'm seeing better prices on Half.com than even the book rental places.

I have been buying (and selling) my books from Ebay's h a l f . c o m (remove the spaces) for years. This is the best method if you have a few days, but of course people ship things at different speeds, and there's always the chance that it won't come at all!

If you really need it NOW, I would sign up for Border's free rewards club, they will email you 40% off coupons almost weekly, and they carry many textbooks in store, or you can order online with the coupon also and you know it will definitely be shipped quick.

Good Luck

I also like half.com - however you'll have to work with the seller on speedy shipping.

My daughter used half dot com and we have several times. This time though, the experience is "not so good". She has not received ANY books at this time, and she ordered a few weeks ago and requested the upgraded shipping since we live in HI. So, not half dot coms fault, but the shippers. I will keep you posted.

eBay, Half.com...or...

My company pays 100% tuition up front for a grade of C or better, they give us paid time off every week and that can be accumulated each semester (I get an extra week off per semester), they pay for all of the new textbooks up front delivered to your front door (you can later sell them when you're done with them), you can study anything you want - it doesn't have to be related to your job and the icing on the cake....
...you get a $10,000 bonus when you graduate!

....oh...and I almost forgot...you're getting paid decently the whole time you're in school!!!!

Now THAT is a slick deal!
