I'm looking for a decent digital Camera for like less than 100 dollars.

*7-8 MP
*Not bulky-something I could easily carry around and doesn't look iffy
*Pretty decent brand if possible.

Please let this be sold in stores because I can't order anything online. I've seen a few in Frys, but I'm not sure if they are good brands or not. I've seen samsung and some others on sale for 100 but yea, I'd like help on this please.

In the sub $100 market the 7-8 MP requirement is absolutely worthless. There will be no change in image quality between a 7-8 MP camera and a 5 MP camera. I would even argue the 5 MP would be better because of less pixel noise.

Given that, I recommend the Canon A470 or the Nikon L10. They get good reviews and should be under $100:

They are both listed as "best buys" in the entry level camera market

If you are a Cosco member, they have Canon SD790IS for $99 at regular store. SD 790 is very highly rated camera in ultra compact P&S category.

:iagree: thats a slick deal. The 790IS is better than either camera I linked and definitely worth the extra money.

...okay this deal is a YMMV... you should have mentioned that to the op:

If you can score the 790IS, that's your best bet.

Otherwise, the Powershot a470 is commonly available for $70-$90, or the a590 for ~$100. I've used both (got my brother a 470 and my mom a 590 for xmas), and they are great cameras.

Don't get caught up in the megapixel game - a camera with a high quality sensor and image processor (Canon's DIGIC III and IV are fantastic) will out-perform a camera with a shoddy sensor and poor electronics by a wide margin; there are countless examples around the web of a high end 5MP camera outperforming a cheap 8MP device.

Fuji J10

Thin, simple to use, pretty good reviews, under $90.

I have been looking for a good deal for Canon SD790IS..I missed the dell deal, Godddd, I wasn't tracking the dell page at the time..

When I go to the Costco webpage, the price given me is $184.99 for the very same camera..How do you get it for $99? Can somebody tell me? I have never shopped from Costco before..Do you have to be a regular consumer to get that price? what do you do?......

Thanks..

I'd really, really suggest avoiding Samsung's cameras... they may make the sensors that several other camera brands use, but their own cameras for whatever reason are sorely lacking.

Seriously, for the < $150 camera market, Canon's abysmally cheap a470 and a590s are your best bet, following by Panasonic and Sony, then Fujifilm and Nikon.

How good are olympus brand cameras?

I've never used an Olympus personally, but I also very rarely see them in the top 5 or even 10 camera reviews.

I love people who ask for advice and then go out of their way to ignore it. Kyzen just made an ordered list of camera brands for the sub $150 market.... How is Olympus????? it is worse than Canon, Panasonic, Sony, Fuji, and Nikon....... People in this thread have givien you recomendations on 3 Canons, a Nikon, and a Fuji... What is wrong with those 5 cameras?

I'm just wondering because it's cheaper than those, but I do appreciate all the help I'm getting for this, I'm deciding with canon because they usually look better and are popular to use. Thanks everyone for your help, =)

No problem, enjoy the camera. As an added benefit I didn't mention earlier, I've found Canon menus to be the most intuitive to navigate... the Panasonic menus took me a little getting used to.
