I bought an expensive potty ($28) at first (one with flushing sounds, music, cute decals etc.) and because I have twins, I also bought a cheap one at Ikea ($3 I think). Both children seemed to prefer (or at least use) the cheap one as much as the expensive one.
When we travelled to my Mom's a month later I just bought 2 Ikea ones when we got there and the girls used them just fine.
Bottom line, at least for my children, the expensive one was a waste of money (and more difficult to clean and empty). HTH

Yes, that's the one. Sorry, not $3.00, $3.99
Kids like it as well as any other and it is easy to clean (and small enough to take with you if need be when out visiting).
