Hello,
I'm looking for a deal on the standalone Drum Set and Wireless Guitar for GH:WT that are being released on 02/15. Xbox 360 is a must.
Drums: http://www.redoctane.com/Browse-by-Title/BBT-Guitar-Hero-World-Tour/Guitar-Hero-World-Tour-Wireless-Drum-Controller-Xbox-360
Guitar: http://www.redoctane.com/Game-Controllers/Xbox-360-Controllers/Guitar-Hero-World-Tour-Wireless-Guitar-Controller-Xbox-360
RedOctane has pre-orders available for $99.99 and $59.99, respectively. I am looking for a better deal, the free shipping is nice, but the price tags are still high for me. I've looked on eBay and Amazon and their prices are no better (actually quite a bit higher considering they are not released yet.)
Gamestop is only accepting pre-orders for these on their webpage, not in-store, so no discounts at the desk.
BestBuy's guitar is already +$10 of RedOctane.
I am willing to pre-order if need be, just so long as I can get a discount for doing so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What? You can get the World Tour Super-Kit for like 129$ that includes the MIC too. why would u wanna buy them seperately at a higher price?

Where can you get the band kit for the 360 at $129? I've only for $189, MAYBE $169.

$129 is for the PS2 - it's $139 for the 360:

Pick up the bundle & sell the game if you already have it. You'd be foolish to buy the peripherals separately with a bundle price like that. :)

Well, that kinda sucks... I don't have a TRU anywhere near me.
I'd like to be able to go pick something up that's already out, like the band kit, instead of waiting 7-10 "business" days for it to ship to me. By that time the standalones will already be in store. The cheapest I can find in-store is $189 around me. I was willing to pre-order the individual pieces because they are not out in stores yet.
All I REALLY want is the Drum Set. I've read reviews about the new guitar and have basically made up my mind to stick with the old Les Paul.
Oh well, I guess I'll just wait till the 15th and go pick up the standalone drums.

You really can't wait a few more days to save a considerable amount of money? I guess if having to have it now overshadows wanting to get a slick deal, then that's your prerogative. Spending $99 on the drums alone when you can have the whole set including game, guitar, and microphone for $40 more because you just can't wait another few days is ridiculously foolish in my opinion. You could ebay/craigslist those pieces and end up with a net cost of your drums that's far less than $99... but to each their own, I guess.

I'm an impatient person at heart. :)
It's not entirely down to impatience here, and I think that's all that you're seeing.
The guitar that came with the Legends of Rock version was a wireless Les Paul replica and is considered very stable. They then released World Tour which has the new version of the wireless guitar. The main difference between the two guitars (not to mention the slider function and button configuration) is the "strum bar" of each model.
The Les Paul has quite a stiff strum bar which has an audible clicking that can be heard as played. This helps with keeping beats. The new World Tour's strum bar is very soft, and has practically no clicking noise.
Now, what I mean by soft and stiff is the rate of return to the "0" point and the force needed to register a strum. The Les Paul returns the strum bar to 0 almost instantaneously. The World Tour guitar has a very noticeable delay in this action. This makes it difficult to play faster parts of songs depending on how you strum.
I say all this not to be long-winded but to show that if I bought the full bundle I would be getting a microphone I do not need or want, a guitar I do not need or want, and a game I do not need or want. Granted, I could possibly sell these items, but that's another hassle all it's own.
I might go ahead and go with the TRU deal. It IS good, I agree with you there... but considering I'm not a beggar, I can be a chooser. Thank you for the tip about Toys R Us. :)

I know all that about the guitar - I play a Les Paul as well and would have no interest in the GHWT guitar. I'm just saying you're foolish to buy the drums for $99 when you can have the whole bundle for $40 more - the game alone is worth the difference. If you don't want to take the slicker deal, then like I said that's your prerogative. Most slick dealers would go the slick route though, myself included. Throwing a listing up on Craigslist takes five minutes. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll be happy with your drums. Just consider the slick route. :)
