Digital Voice Recorder

I need a digital dictaphone (small digital voice recorder) to record meetings. No one is ever going to transcribe these recording. it is strictly for archiving. Please help me find a deal. I don't know which ones suck and which ones don't. Everyone from Sony to Olympus make these things. Sound quality is a big deal. so is a universal (non proprietary) file and compression format.

Recommendations?
