Looking for a free way to express your love on Valentine’s Day that doesn’t include picking flowers at the park? How about picking up the phone! 1-800-FREE411 is offering free 10-minute phone calls on Valentine’s Day from any landline or mobile phone* in the U.S. to any phone number in the U.S.

To take part in this free offer, simply dial 1-800-FREE411 (1-800-373-3411) on February 14, 2009 from any cell phone or landline, and listen to the prompts to be connected to your loved ones. It’s an easy and free way to tell someone across the country you love them.

Is it really free?
Yes and no. Because we are an 800 number, you don’t get charged long distance fees, and because we connect you straight from the 800 number — that connection charge is on us! But we do not have control over your individual cell phone plan — therefore, mobile phone callers may still be charged minutes by their service provider.

How long is the offer valid?
The offer is valid for 24 hours beginning 12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST) on February 13, 2009 and ending at 12:00 AM EST on February 14, 2009.

You can call up until 11:59 pm EST on February 14th and still be connected for 10 minutes!

This is just a gimmick to get people to use their service, which in turn will help them sell ads. 1-800-GOOG-411 (Google's Free 411) is much better, has no ads, and will always connect you for free. Every day of the year.
First of all, a 10 minute US Domestic phone call? Come on, who here really cares about such a thing. I would have to believe that almost everyone here has either free long distance, OR get's, at the bare minimum, free nights and weekends. And guess what. Valentines Day is on a Saturday.....
So thanks for the info OP, but personally, I think this deal is kind of pointless.

Quite useful, be cool if cell phones had exceptions like these.
