People are usually good about putting AR, PM, B&M, etc in a deal title but there are also many posts like "Free BlackBerry" and "Free Cell Phone". This is misleading because these require service agreements where you may have to spend a grand a year to get the "free" device... how about adding an acronym to the FAQ like SAR for Service Agreement Required, or maybe WSA for With Service Agreement? SAR is close to AR, maybe not a good one.

The cell phone ones are even more confusing because they usually require an agreement but could be a free prepaid phone with a minutes card.

But with the number of devices we see deals on (BlackBerry, mobile phones, Vonage, TIVO, Satellite, XM, Sirius, etc) that have a monthly service charge embedded, I think we oughta establish an acronym for this.

is there no space in the title to put "1 yr contract", "2 yr contract", "prepaid" or "w/ monthly service"?

I think most people leave that information out thinking more people will click on the thread title and somehow their deal is "better" without the fine print :/

I think people just don't think to put it in because they think "free" always means "good". There may be room but "w/ monthly service" takes more room than "brick and mortar".

My 2 cents:
If you start to use them, more people will catch on & possibly start using them. That's how we have the abbreviations we have now. I've also noticed "*" being used for the FAR phone offers.

Yeah, that's probably best. Now this forces me to hunt down free after service agreement deals which I don't like anyway  :lmao:
