This notebook is all about high-performance productivity. With its Intel Core 2 Duo T9400, this notebook is not only one of the fastest on the market, it also has the ability to go for long hours while using little battery. The combination of a powerful NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M with the stellar 15.4" WUXGA 1080p-capable panel means that graphics will get rendered fast and in high resolution. It has wireless options galore with support for the very latest Wireless LAN "N" spec, as well as full Bluetooth capability. The backlit keyboard and webcam round out the package for a highly functional experience.

I used to buy cheap laptops from my local Fry's Electronics.
Then I tried a Latitude at a summer internship and the quality difference was unbelievable.
Main differences:
1) Amazing keyboard quality
2) Amazing NBD warranty service included
3) More sturdy/durable/built to last than any other laptop I have owned
4) Perfect metal/plastic casing for weight/durability.
Overall; latitudes dominate any competition.

The laptop looks like a great replacement for the Dell XPS M1330 that just went out of warranty and no longer recognizes the power cord being plugged into it.
I enjoyed the 1330 but I am not looking forward to the repair cost for a system that required the motherboard to be replaced 1 month before the warranty ran out and then 2 months aftwerwards the power plug on the laptop not the cord stops working.
Let me try this one as a replacement and I will give you my opinion in the future with respects to longevity of a Dell system. Currently, I am 2 good ones to 1 bad for buying a laptop from Dell.

The E6500 has a great minimalist design (brushed metal hinges!), SSD, backlit keyboard, XP SP3, and a high resolution monitor. It is also decently powerful and great for graphics or processing. This comes all at a very reasonable price point, especially compared to its (likely) main competitors Lenovo and Apple.

The look of the Latitude E6500 will make all my friends jealous with its amazing black body and i definitely could use the core 2 duo for gaming i mean for school :D . No but really this computer leaves my desktop in the dust. Which proves how amazing this laptop acutely is, Dell keeps raising the line of standards for computers and this is no exception. All i can do now is pray to the Dell gods and see if i am worthy of holding such power in my hands.

I would certainly love to own one of these.
$2500 laptop is no joke. My plan (if won) would be to throw in a 500GB HDD in the latitude and buy a 200 dollar Dell Mini and pop in the 64gb drive in that.

These are great laptops. A little on the heavy side, but quite powerful. Used to set these up for executive users at my previous job. Would love to have one for myself. My windows-based dell laptop is 7 years old and almost not worth booting. Sure hope I win this giveaway!

Dell Latitude E6500 Intel is way amazing, it doesn't hurt that it looks good too. Dell is always reliable. I have a laptop from Dell for over 6 years now and I secretly hope that it stops working so I can get a new one but it's still working as well as the first day I bought it. Way to go Dell!

Why does this laptop beat the competition? It has so much going for it. SIX MEGABYTE cache, 1066 MHz FSB, 35 W TDP, dedicated graphics, solid state hard drive... I wonder how the battery life is. 85 WHr / 35 W = 2.4 hours. Of course, that's at full CPU load.

I think any laptop packing an SSD alone is pretty awesome. After all, almost every other part of a computer is truly electronic (CPU, GPU, RAM), but a regular Hard Drive still has mechanical parts. For a long time, the HDD has been what can really make or break a system.
To the winner : make sure you disable scheduled defrags! SSDs never need to be defragmented, and running defragmentation will reduce the life of the drive.

i need a new dell!
my old dell is crapping out.
The E6500 is a dell, enough said. Dells are super durable and last a long time by computer standards. I've had dells and haven't had a single problem during the first 3 years of using them. The E6500 is awesome because of the ssd which will reduce hard drive failures, the most common form of laptop maintenance, and the XP downgrade, which, is basically an upgrade.

This computer is awesome due to the massive solid state drive makes this computer more reliable in high motion environments (like riding in a train). You won't have to worry about your hard disk getting slammed around and screwing itself over by hitting some mechanical moving par.t

The Dell Latitude E6500 beats the competition because of the Solid State Drive, the 9-cell battery, 15.4” widescreen WUXGA (1920×1200) backlit screen and the backlit keyboard. It's sleek design is a major plus. The many ports include eSATA, VGA, Express Card Slot and SD Card Reader, PCMCIA, SmartCard, Wireless Control, Firewire, Microphone, Headphones, three USB ports, Ethernet, and DisplayPort. Options include Bluetooth with 2.1 and UWB, Wireless WAN w/ GPS, and Wireless LAN card with B/G/N.
The specs on this laptop are excellent. The Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 at 2.53GHz and with 6M L2 Cache provide plenty of processing power. The solid state drive and the low wattage processor insure a long runtime from the powerful 9 cell battery. With Dell pretesting and quality support it leaves the competition in the dust!
