rep points point system

okay, i just gave a brand new noob a rep pt for good effort. i noticed it jumped two points. i thought only mods have the power to give two rep pts at one time. so how do you know when you can start giving more than one rep point at a time? does it go up to 3? 4?

i also know that all those gray never turn green. at least all of my grays are still gray.

i don't know the exact rules of the system , but post count or join date gets you a +1 or +2 effect. being a mod gets you another plus 1. mine counted for 3 a couple nights ago.

it must be the join date because my post count is pretty low now. I lost 1400 in a matter of a few seconds.

i thought only mods had the +2 privilege. the other night i got a rep pt that counted for two from arachnid and all i kept thinking was he must be a MID (mod in disguise). duh.

Mine count for two. They used to count for 3 before my mighty fall to my current post total...

That's the only conclusion I can draw...

Last week I had a whole thread about me blessing people with 3 rep points. That was when I had 6400-ish posts. Now I have 3383 and I can only give 2 rep points...

I know it was mentioned in aother post, but IIRC:
After a year your rep. point #(the # of points you give) goes up. It continues to go up every year.
If you have a certain amount of posts, your rep. point # also goes up.
Mods & Admins automatically go up (Though I think admins & green bars are 3 pts & mods (blue bars) are 2 pts.).
New members must have a certain amount of posts for thier points to count.

unless there was a change, i remeber back when i first became a blue bar and lowpro was a green bar, mine counted for 3 and his 2. i was at the time over 6k posts i think.

looking thru your past posts, you haven't posted in the lounge. all lounge post are no longer counted towards your post count. there's a sticky on the top of the lounge forum. the four of us (me, kel be, arjunsr and iamslick) and many others lost our lounge post counts a few days ago.
