I'm going to buy my first motorcyle. Where is the best place to shop for gear? I'm in the philly area and know about Cycle Gear. Anywhere else? Immediately, I'm looking for deals on this kind of stuff:
- jacket
- gloves
- lock
- cover
thanks!

Newenough.com
7again.com - although you need to be sent an invitation by an existing member. I'll do that if you PM me your email address. I do not make any money by inviting you.
www.chaparral-racing.com
Also, check out Montgomeryville Cycle Center for seeing the stuff in person. I've bought things there on sale for similar pricing to online stores. Great people.
And it should go without saying that you should take the MSF safety course.
brocktoncycle.com
mawonline.com
both have good prices in their clearance sections, ok prices for their regular price stuff, so it's a ymmv for what you find.

Just going to go and second Newenough.com. Check out their prices on the new HJC IS-16/MAX helmets with the integrated sun visor. I've ordered from them a couple of times and I've been very happy with the service, and they're very fair about returns.

www.motorcycle-superstore.com -where I got my helmet (plus alot of other stuff)
www.ironpony.com - my gloves
newenough.com - as above, got my jacket there
All of my very first gear I got used from local riders. You can find some good stuff If you browse the clearance and closeout sections of those sites and don't care about color.
