Hey well I'm looking to get a new monitor, preferably one about 22-24' that has the resolution to support blu-ray, preferably with a 2ms response, but its not a huge deal. I really don't have any brand preferences, I would however like a monitor that is at least decent quality. I'm not looking for the cheapest, I'm looking for the best deal, just like everybody else on this site.

What I saw that I liked :

Any help is appreciated =] - I do not really know what to look at besides resolution and response time (I do play games but not hardcore enough to demand a high response time). I've heard good things about dell monitors as well.I'm also looking for a mount for this (not sure if I want a desk "arm" or a wall mount) and an internal blu-ray drive if anyone see's a good deal on that.

I recently purchased this HP 22" monitor and am very happy/pleased with the purchase.
I grabbed it when it was on sale for 179.99 but at 219.99 its still a good monitor for its price. Just make sure you choose amazon to get the free shipping and better price :)

Thanks for the input, if anything it helped me realize how important free shippings going to be on one of these "deals" ($40 shipping wtf). I like the hp brand myself too, but the resolution is 1680x1050, don't you need 1920x1080 to see any difference with a blu-ray?

One other thing to consider is the type of panel the monitor uses. Different types have different pros and cons.

The cheapest are TN panels, the most expensive are usually the IPS panels.

It also seems getting a 24" 1920x1200 monitor is a better value than getting a 16:9 1080p monitor. 1080p (1920x1080) has a hype premium, despite the fact a 1920x1200 will play 1080p movies just fine.

Thanks, I appreciate it, now to find a good deal =P I guess I have time to wait on it, because I do currently have a good monitor, and recently acquired a small tv I can use as a second monitor, as I was just looking for something bigger to watch movies and play games on.

I have a Samsung 2ms 22" panel (semi gloss). Forgot the exact model but it's about a year and a half old. It's a great screen - I have no complaints. Great contrast/brightness and i've never seen any blurring in it.
