I was just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the Grocery Stores not accepting Smartsource Coupons.
I was told that any Printable Internet coupon that does not have a Bar Code towards the top right hand corner and of course on the bottom, they will no longer accept these.
The only coupons that do not have these printed towards the top is the SmartSource.
For those that shop at the Commissary, I was told they no longer accept these types of Coupons.
I didn't know where else to post this except for here where most of us print our coupons.
Just wondered if anyone else is having any problems at their local Grocery Store.
Thanks :)

I was told by one of the Cashiers at the Commissary, that they had a meeting and was told that they no longer will be accepting coupons that don't have a double bar code.
I was just curious if anyone has ran into this problem yet :)

Hey Eves,
I too am a commissary shopper and was told the same thing several months ago. This is not DeCA policy, which clearly states that as long as there is a PIN number on the coupons OR the double bar codes, DeCA does accept them.I sent an email to DeCA via their website explaining the situation at my local commissary and the manager and cashiers being turds about accepting them (I actually got into shouting matches with them after I was accused of "fake" coupons just because they were SS Q's). I requested that someone from DeCA call me so we could discuss it further.
This is what I found out. DeCA DOES accept SS coupons and a commissary manager does NOT have the authority to override DeCA regulations. The problem was fixed by noon that day with the manager, however, it did take time for the cashiers to all be 'filled in' or actually remember (because there have been several instances where the SAME cashier has denied SS coupons, and I have to get the manger involved over and over again, and then they get icky to the manger and me about how no one ever told them blah blah, when the week before I had the EXACT same scenario with the same damn cashier). It was roughly 1 month before everything went smooth as glass, and now all the cashiers and baggers know me as the coupon lady and I have no issues whatsoever! (Except those cashiers that tell me when there is an overage for a coupon, they have to adjust my man Q's to reflect the actual price, even though the overage can towards my total on other items. I have to get the manger involved on that fun, but its VERY rare, and always someone who is new that transferred from somewhere else!)
Anyhow, go to the DeCA website and do one of the questions/comments form about coupon useage, and request a call with a small descript. of what is going on. The people that call are only there on weekdays, but are VERY nice and even did a follow up call after.
Before you go through all of that, have the cashier call over the manager of the commissary, not just another cashier who often times is just as misinformed as they are, and see what the manger says about the matter. If the manger has the same attitude, then go with contacting DeCA.
The only IP that they do not accept are ones without pin #'s. Which would be PDF q's ect.
Good luck eve. =) Its a headache, but well worth it!
If you need any help, please contact me at luvatigger at gmail com (not sure if I can post my email in here but going to try), and am in So MD, so if you are located in the same area, please let me know, and I can tell you who to ask for! LOL.

Thank you very much. I was just told this today and I think your right, this cashier looked new. I went through the Self check out line and was able to scan most of the coupons but a few. That even included some of the SS coupons that I've already scanned. When I called a Cashier over to let her know that some of the coupons didn't scan that's when she informed me that they no longer take the coupons without the double scan codes. I was  cause I just scanned a few and the system took it with no problems.
I will go to the DECA site and contact them about their policy on internet coupons.
This is the first time I've heard of this, I just think she wasn't fully informed. Just for giggles I'm going tomorrow with some of my SS coupons and see what happens LOL!!
Thanks again for the information, this time I'll be ready to fire back.

I just found this on the commissary site.
Question
Can I use coupons generated from the Internet in a commissary?
Answer
Yes, commissaries gladly accept Internet or home-printed coupons provided they meet the following requirements - the coupons must have a typical barcode and Product Identification Number (PIN) or GS1 DataBar. A Dot Scan Barcode may appear below the expiration date, but is only required if stated on the coupon, e.g., "Do not accept without a Dot Scan Barcode below the expiration date." Internet coupons cannot be accepted for free products, however, "Buy One Get One Free" coupons are acceptable if they meet all other requirements.
Procter and Gamble (P & G) does not authorize Internet coupons for any of their products.
I'm taking this with me tomorrow, just in case. Thanks again and Repped!!!

Pfftt They wont care. I have whipped it out for them, and they wont even look at it. (this was when the manger was the one running that band wagon and being nasty to me about it as well). The people at DeCA were so cool about it all, and even told me there is no need for that, the problem had been fixed (and it was) The district supervisor and the regional supervisor were also notified. I also had no qualms with letting them know I was the one who called DeCA about them being so rude and their 'bending' policy!
Once you find out the manger is on the ball, get their name because you are going to be having cashiers call him/her often until they all get straight! As soon as I get a cashier with a wrinkled nose, or who stalls while looking at any of my coupons, I tell them to get him. (Some try to get me back by trying to count the amount of items I have to verify that I have the same # of items for the # of coupons, but I let them have the baggers dig in the dozens of bags and hold up lines just to see them look like fools in the end, its quite entertaining at times! But it hasnt happened in quite awhile, knock on wood I have to go tomorrow!)
Good luck tomorrow and let us know how it goes!

I have been told no IP at Acme and Shoprite in the past but I always check and the tellers just dont all know. I have encountered that many times. Then mgr comes and says of course we take them or another teller.
If in doubt when using a coupon check at customer service or write corporate. I have done that to clarify other deals catalina usage etc...
