I just called up comcast for new service.

Here's what I was quoted:

$94/month for the first 6 months:

Internet
Cable Starter Package (Two HD DVR's, One regular HD box)(With Showtime)

One-time installation fee of $139

I'm usually good with CS people, but this person was not budging on ANYTHING.

How can I get a better deal? Or is this it?

I believe that's it, but you should have gotten a quote after the 6 month promo expires. Comcast is not cheap, and when we move to an area that offers AT&T I'm dropping Comcast.

That seems expensive. The internet is $19.99 a month till end of 2009 at my place for new customers. Starter package is $29.99 + say 30 for HD package I think

and no installation fee

Call again and speak to some other person. Maybe you will get a better deal

I haven't fully looked into either because we aren't moving for a little while.

Tell them that if they want yer business, they need to install at no charge like all others (DirectTV, DISH etc). If you get an inflexible rep, just call again. I go right to the cancellations option - you wait less on hold and they have more authority to make a better deal.

I have to renegotiate me Comcast deal every 6 months to keep the price down. Real PITA. Wish I had a etter option but their internet screams (at least in my area)
