I've looked through cnet's reviews and camcorderinfo and a few other reviews, but still am trying to find something that best matches these criteria with the best quality video (esp. in-doors) to price in the range of $200-550/600 shipped.

1. I'm looking for a Standard Def-cam (or does anyone know if Canon's HG20 or other HD's will record in non-AVCHD files? My MAC's a little old, but I want to use it for the video editing and it can't take AVCHD files, I'm almost certain)

2. Uses either a flash drive with 20gb+ space and memory card slot (preferred) OR MiniDV.

3. Has at least 10x optical zoom (30x+ would be a plus)

4. Has an Electric ViewFinder (EVF)

5. Has great picture color/depth/warmth/sharpness/etc.

I'd REALLY rather stay AWAY from most of Sony's line as I really don't like the idea of LCD touch screens and dealing with them for most options.

Any suggestions/deals would be awesome... I'm a little tired, there may be one or two more things I'm looking for, but if so, I'll edit this post later. Thanks again

(I think the panasonic PV-GS250 would be awesome, but it's a little old and I wasn't finding it new anywhere under $800--only one dealer on amazon I think).

Seeing as nobody has helped any of my "help me find a deal" threads lately, I should've expected no response. and yes, I am slightly bitter about that.

Just to update this, I have decided on going with Sanyo's new VPC-WH1, as I am going on a vacation with lots of underwater/snokeling action coming up soon. It may not be the best camera, but it does stay far away from the hells of AVCHD's technology in most HD cameras, it does do a great job with 720p hd, has decent sound underwater, and is a novelty camcorder, which is what I want from the upcoming adventure.

It has 30x optical zoom, and takes SD cards... the battery life may leave a little to be desired, but I'll just find a spare battery somewhere, because taking underwater videos will wonderful.

Price range is around $369-$399 at online retailers, and an awesome sales rep called up the manufacturer to ask for ship dates and so I have one personally ordered from sanyo.
