I hate that I couldn't figure this out myself without having to make a post here but after two weeks of constantly searching the forums, Pricegrabber, and Google checkout, I could really use some help on this one.

I have a Dell Studio 15, Samsung NC10, and my girlfriend's Vaio FZ (this thing still has a 4200rpm drive!) that I am planning on replacing the drives in and right now the Western Digital Scorpio Blue seems perfect. In the Tom's Hardware charts, the Scorpio Blue performs almost as well or better than most of the 7200rpm hard drives, but regardless 500GB is the perfect amount of space for me so I'm willing to sacrifice a little performance. It also doesn't hurt that 5400rpm hard drives are said to be more reliable.

So far the cheapest I've been able to find is actually $100 at Amazon since I get free 2nd day shipping with my prime account, but I'm hoping to wait for a $70-80 range to pull the trigger, even if that means waiting another few weeks for a deal to come along.

One other thing I've been considering is trying to remove the drive from a 500GB WD Passport, as I've heard that these contain the Scorpio Blue drives and they go on sale more often. Any input, including suggestions of other 500GB with similar performance, would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for the replies, but $100 with free 2nd day shipping at Amazon is still the best deal. I tried that coupon and its expired.
