You build your previously computer by yourself? Heck, just sell all previous parts, DDR1 memory, the mobo, the processor,
If near a frys, pick up a combo.

4GB DDR2 6400 Twin

Total:
$188.0

$202.1 yields a 7400 and 4gb ram + mobo.
I didn't look at the mobo, but thats just an idea.

Yes I built it myself I have plans on reusing everything, I read more about your MB I am looking for more power from that although the cpu you suggested was good.
MB missing usb headers
Memory 2 slots limited I know XP can only do 4gb but with windows 7 around the corner who knows
no PCI 1 x slots
only one PCI 16x slots
but thanks for trying appreciate it.
I am thinking 200 might not be enough.

I just ordered mine and upgraded the same thing. I had asus A8V deluxe with 3400 939.
I went with the intel duo E8400 and Arctic Freezer 7 from Ewiz

and the gigabyte mobo

a little over $200, that was my original limit also but should last long and run fast.
