I have a question regarding my air miles, that I have accumulated over the past year. I have about 30k miles on my Lufthansa miles n more card (star alliance) which will expire by June 30. Unfortunately, I have no travel plans due to work constraints. What’s the best use of these miles before they expire. Is it possible to sell these miles or somehow cash out these miles. Thanks,

Register on Points.com. The site simplifies the management of your reward programs. It is free
They will give you free 5-10 miles free on registration. Choose Lufthansa free miles while registration. So that will count as a transaction in your miles account. I did that for my Delta miles and now they are valid for two years more.

thanks for the reponse. unfortunately, older miles will expire regardless of any new activity.. is there a way to cash out these miles?

If your older miles expire regardless of activity, I'd say you might be in trouble :(
I do know that there is some site where you can go to trade miles with someone else -- say you have some Lufthansa and they want those then they can trade you american airlines miles (provided you have an account there). There are some fees involved and I don't know which airlines participate.
That's the only thing I can think of that might help you - unfortunately i don't know a lot about it because I heard about it from a friend and didnt' write down any details. Google?
