1) It was a very hot deal...with very limited life. I think getting a 750ml bottle of vodka for $2.95 is a pretty darn good deal...

2) a quick search thru hot deals finds many other liquor posts left in hot deals

3) I don't believe that vodka is either a drug or a grocery item.....

Many times they won't even move an obvious drugstore/grocery item out of the hot deals forum. Dunno why they felt the need to move your item.

Yes, this was a mistake, we apologize. One of the mods saw local store and must have thought grocery store and moved it there by accident. I've moved it back to HD where you had originally posted it, sorry for the inconvenience. You are correct, it is not a drugstore item.

OP, between this and your other thread in here, you seem so frustrated that your deals didn't make the front page. is that really so important? people found your deals useful, it seems like that is what should matter the most. some make the fp and some don't. just feel proud that you saved some people some money and relax about it.

Our drugstores and grocery stores don't sell liquor. Guess it depends on where you live.

Good luck buying liquor at a grocery store in Florida....wine/beer yes, but not liquor.

You're making the same mistake that the moderator made when he said anyone can get their knives sharpened at a quality butcher or grocery shop. The web is a big place....the US is a big place.....and what you experience locally may just not be what others experience....so generalizations are sometimes incorrect.

I'm just trying to understand how this site works....I never asked why the vodka post didn't make the up and coming (it might have, by the way). One of the first responses on that question was a set of rules...but then it seemed that they weren't being followed so I kept going to see how the site really works. In fact, the rules posted don't apply to "up and coming" which was my question...In the Vodka case, my post disappeared and I was curious why...because it had such a short life.

I guess maybe I'm unusual in that I like to know how sites work...how they choose things they feature, etc. Sort of like figuring out how google ranks things.....

I think that bryantq explained this earlier ...
"Up and coming" is not something that we as mods control ...
It is completely automated.
Thread views/clicks control which threads go there... so it is not in our hands at all.
