Remember people, with the FBM limited time Giveaways, seeing the YES I WANT TO RECEIVE option does NOT mean you will get it. You have to be one of the first 500. It will allow the order to go thru for weeks, months and sometimes even years. it's just a quirk in their system. With the magazines, once there are no more subs, you will not be able to check YES. Sorry, but that's the truth.

I wonder what the whole "publisher approval" means....

Regarding trade publications: your answers have been forwarded for publisher approval. The publisher reserves the right to accept or reject all trade subscriptions. Qualification is not determined by freebizmag.com. If you are subscribing to a particular trade publication for the first time and you qualify, please allow 6-8 weeks for processing before your issues begin arriving. Please note the first issue delivery date varies by publication. You will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours.

That is only for Trade magazines. The "first 500" offers will continue to show as valid for months and sometimes years so don't think just because it let you check yes that you will get it. a month or so from now FBM will send out a "sorry chump" email to most of us. the first 500 are usually eaten up in the first hour that an email goes out for these offers.

On the bright side, a few other publications were offered along with this including one PRINT publication, Athritis Self-Management. See:

1. Would you like a complimentary one-year digital subscription to Texas Monthly? This magazine is edited for the urban Texas audience and covers the state's politics, sports, business, culture, and changing lifestyles. Your 12-issue subscription is sponsored by and has been purchased on your behalf by XEOS.

Yes!

No thanks.

2. Would you like to receive a complimentary one-year subscription to Arthritis Self-Management? Arthritis Self-Management is a bimonthly magazine for people who want to be actively involved in managing their condition. Articles written by health professionals offer practical information and advice on topics such as treatments, exercise, managing pain, doing everyday chores, and dealing with stress. Your 6-issue subscription is sponsored by and has been purchased on your behalf by XEOS.

Yes!

No thanks.

3. Would you like to receive a complimentary digital subscription to Out? This is a general interest magazine for gays and lesbians. Each issue includes journalism on culture, people and current issues. It is written for people who appreciate a different slant on everyday life and accept diversity as a given. Individual concerns are also addressed. Your 10-issue subscription is sponsored by and has been purchased on your behalf by XEOS.

Yes!

No thanks.

So, it's worth doing for that alone.

If you need more info on FBM, please click on the link in my siggy to the Mythbusting thread. it explains all about Publisher approval on Controlled-circulation magazines.

Gave it a shot- I have yet to be one of the first 500 for any of these free books they offer, but this one would be really cool to get. Looking forward to my "sorry chump" email!
