Hey guys,

I've been doing some searching and I'm pretty new to the HD world. I have a new Sony Bravia XBR7 (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Bravia-KDL-40XBR7-40-Inch-1080p/dp/B001GJADP6/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239219251&sr=8-6) coming in, in a few days and I want to hook up my Xbox 360 and HD cable box to it.

I'm looking for a cable that can use all the features of the TV, such as the x.v Color and 10-bit Processor and 10-bit Panel. I'm not sure if it actually depends on the cable whether those features work or not, but I just want to be sure.

So far, my understanding is that there are several categories of cables and paying for monster cable means you are probably like my girlfriend and will believe everything the sales people tell you.

would these (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E8OVMQ/ref=pd_luc_sbs_01_02) work?

Thanks for your help in advance.

First, I'm assuming that your Xbox 360 has the HDMI port....

OK, I'm gonna say this once.... Do NOT buy cables from the retail stores! You will pay out the nose - $30~$100 for a simple HDMI cable.

You need to go to monoprice.com (http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240) and get a v1.3a HDMI cable. If you do have HDMI on your Xbox 360 and your TV passes through the audio to your receiver, that is the only video/audio cable you need. That is how I have mine set up and I can either hear my xbox audio on my TV (stereo), or turn on my receiver and hear it in Dolby II.

As you will see from the prices, you can even pay for super fast shipping and still come out cheaper than going to the store.

I'm in the same boat.

I can't get monoprice to load on either IE or Firefox...

got a pair from monoprice. Thanks for pointing me there. Turns out i bought something there like 6 years ago because I had an account there. Also got some optical cables as well. Kick ass website. I feel bad for people that pay for monster cables.

the games look f***in' unreal!

Can't wait for finals to be over so I can fire up gears of war 2 =)
