Hello SD'ers!
Long long time reader, first time poster. You guys are awesome and I've easily saved 10s of thousands of dollars using this site since 2003. Yay RSS feeds.
Anyway, time to replace my 1999 32' tv that was so cool when I first got it. I remember when I first hooked up my computer to it and watched a downloaded movie...so many people would ask...how did you do that?! So, here is the TV I am looking for:
46'+ but hopefully 50/52'
1080p (really, who spends this much money on 720 anymore)
I'd like it to be <$1000 but if its perfect and includes shipping i'd go up to 1300
I hate to say this, especially being an engineer, but I really like the sharp TVs 100% because of their frame around the TV. I love that black finish. Nothing to do with it's technology but it's a frame around a piece of art IMO.
Things I use my TV for:
- Gaming: I love my wii and plan to get a PS3 simply for it's blue ray functions
- Sports: I'm a die hard arsenal fan and watch every game.
- A LOT OF COMPUTER: On my 4th macbook, just got the new 17' MacBook Pro and watch movies, tv, etc off it. I cancelled TV all together and only watch content from here. TV should probably have DVI as well as HDMI.
Ok, please let me know if i missed anything but the big points: ~50' TV, 1080, glossy black finish around the frame for <$1000 but might go up to $1300.
