Not sure if this is the proper forum.

I'm tryin to get RR to lower the price I pay. We currently pay $48/month and I see ATT has a special $20/month. So I called and asked them to price match and they said no. So I scheduled a disconnect date for 2 weeks.

Will they call me back and offer a lower price within the 2 weeks? Is their a retentions I can call? What is the best way to go about it? Or is it hopeless? Thanks

If they didnt offer you a deal when you first mentioned you were going to quit , I doubt they will call you back and offer you a deal. Ive never heard of them calling someone back. I think the most common deal is a bundling deal --- you get a discount for getting cable TV plus cable internet access or phone service too. Besides that , they always have some deal going for new users for a limited time like 6 mos from the time you sign up.

Theres always some poster who says they threatened to quit and got a big discount but I think thats a roll of the dice. If they rolled over every single time someone called and threatened to quit, everybody would do it and then they really wouldnt make a profit. Though as it is, it seems like they have pretty fat profit margins at least on the cable modem side so they can cut prices for some people I guess. It seems really random. Ive never heard of anyone getting an insane deal in my region only the package deals.

After looking at DISH and DirectTV prices they seem to have cheaper packages. Why not go with them? Or ATT if you really can get a 20 buck package.

When I called to quit Comcrap they called me every day offering me discount/free this and that. But I haven't got 1 call from TW yet.

I can't get AT+T at my house but I don't think they know that. I'll call and tell them forget it--just give me the $35 plan if they don't call me back in a few days.

Thanks for your advice. Repped.

I called up TW a while back to pay my bill and explained to them that I had lost my job. They then in turn offered me a package that would lower my bill by $20 a month. The rep that I talked to made the mistake of telling me that I should have been offered that plan before then. So, I then talked to a supervisor who credited my acct 2 months of service for their mistake. I guess I was just a lucky one.

Good idea. I may ask for a new customer special and if they say no--talk to a supervisor. Thanks
