But I need some suggestions, i.e., where to find a clean tire so it doesn't leave a black film on my daughter, or so it doesn't bake in the sun and then burn whoever hops on, or the best knots to tie around the tire at 3 points, or if there is something to attach the 3 ropes so when it spins it doesn't kink up the rope connecting the tree, or what type of rope would be best so it doesn't give my daughter rope burn, but is also strong.
Any suggestions are seriously welcome.

Do not use a steel belted radial. :bigeye: My Papaw did that years ago - big mistake. huge! He cut his swing into a bucket swing, though - not a traditional flat tire swing.
Curious why not to use radials?

Because the steel cord will, in time come out of that tire and hurt someone!!

That's what I was thinking. I'm curious where I will find a nice big tire. I'd like one of those monster truck tires... well, maybe not that big. Tire joint. Maybe Costco since they have such good customer service?

Doesn't that sound like a horror movie line?
"Why don't we just get a Steel-belted radial, Johnny?"
"Because, Melinda, in time, the steel cord will come out. Come out and HURT someone."
