Yugo M70

Just wondering if you rifle experts out there think that the Yugo M70 on www.classicarms.us is a good deal or not??

If not, does anyone know where I can find a better deal?? I am also thinking I would like to get this AK Yugo Quad Rail System (Yugo Model) (http://www.tickbitesupply.com/ak.html)

In any case, no matter what rifle I get, I want to get one that I can put a tactical red dot scope and light on. Any recommendations and advice is much appreciated!!

It's not a terrible deal. I have seen prices coming down a bit, and at the local shop they had them going for 650 two weeks ago.

I was able to find a wood stocked M70 for 650ish at http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com/item.aspx?pid=59429 but I understand the fun and desire to stick with an underfolder.

In terms of Classic Arms and their deal, I have personally not purchased through them, but they seem to do very well keeping their prices lower and competitive. If they have something in stock that you love, I wouldn't hesitate too long.

The Quad Rail system looks nice. I personally prefer to keep the standard wood look with my AK variants and strip and stain them to the russian red color, but if you are wanting the red dot, then these rails look nice.

Like poster above stated "Prices have been coming down a bit" is true right now. Though I have only seen Classic have the Yugo Under-folder in stock before all the hoopla(Crazy time) these were at $499 but could be had for $450, Do I think we will see these prices again IMHO I don't think so maybe say $600- $550 range. There is a ban on the books already that restrict the importation of serviceable barrels on these and others, very similar to the one on receivers in parts kits, that is why the rifles you all see nowadays have a new barrel in addition to the required compliance parts. For the availability factor it is a fair price not gouging you I would go for the AK at AIM over this for $499 with the wood furniture. Also don't know about Classic anymore read the posts in another thread by The Raddish and others over their lack of quality control and service for the customer I haven't brought form them since September and everything was fine then
Have only one question what do you want with all the quad stuff do you need rearveiw mirrors or is it for a coffee cup holder. The light will only tell your perpetrator where you are and the Optics the Yugo provides very good sights right on top I get 1.5 at 200 also flipup night sights(ask not sure if functioning on the new ones) and don't forget that the Yugo is superior to the AK in that it has a heavier receiver and features that hold bolt open on last shot.
