This is starting to get ridiculous. I've been looking at monitors for months now...I ended up buying a refurb 2408wfp off of ebay for 290$ after Live CB only to be ripped off and not have the monitor sent.

Because I am unwilling to spend more than 300$ on a monitor, I am looking at 4 options really:

Dell 2209WA (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=320-7825&dgc=BF&cid=7421&lid=197378&acd=10466193-1225267-u273443t1328251f0fp0c0s558) (1680x1050 E-IPS panel, prolly will look the best) 220$ (minus 10$ for Discover CB + Tax)

Samsung 2343bwx (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001317) (2048 x 1152 res, TN Panel) 220$

Samsung 2333sw (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001314&Tpk=samsung%202333sw) (bought it in a Dell deal to resell on Craigslist, still haven't sold and is sitting unopened in my living room, 1920x1080 TN Panel) 200$

ASUS MK241H (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236033&nm_mc=AFC-SlickDeals&cm_mmc=AFC-SlickDeals-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA) (24" 1920x1200, my ideal resolution, speakers, webcam, TN Panel) 230$ (are Asus rebates trustworthy?)

Here's my problem:

I'm a sucker for image quality
I'm a poor college student
I code a lot so I like to have vertical space
I also like high-res so I can have multiples windows side by side
I watch movies and TV in my room sometimes

I've been strongly leaning towards the Ultrasharp because of the IPS panel, but I'm really not sure if it's worth the trade off in resolution (an inch or two in size isn't too big a deal to me). So...help me decide?

I'm up for suggestions, but the Ultrasharp is really the only 22" 1680 I'm willing to get, and I'm not a fan of off brand stuff like "Sceptre" or "Naga".

Anyone care to help me make a decision? Someone who stares at a monitor all day and codes?

Stay away from Asus LCDs as their reliability is crap. (I don't dislike Asus btw, I would still buy their motherboards.) Dells are made by various companies but most often they are Phillips/BenQ. I just got the Samsung 2333SW today and I'm quite happy with it. The vertical space is ~100px less than a 16:10 but it's the same or slightly more than the 17" I replaced so I'm fine with that. 100px is very minimal anyway and I think people concern themselves too much with it - but to each his own. I say to keep the Sammy.
