I have an ATX mobo and an HD4850 graphics card. I already have a power supply and also 3 hard drives one DVD drive and a big CPU fan, RCX-Z4. I threw it all in an old case but the air flow is not sufficient. The card is running pretty hot and I need to get a better case to help keep it cool.
As I've already blown my budget on the 2 20% off REI offers this week so I'm looking for a budget solution to my heating issue. Any ideas? How the case looks is not in the least important to me.

The Newegg newsletter from this morning had a couple of cases on it. One was a mid tower for $50, with a window on the side and $20 MIR. It ships free with the code included in the newsletter (need to be subscribed to the newsletter to get the deal, but you can sign up right now and use the code immediately as far as I know).
Here is the case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146041&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL050809&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL050809-_-ComputerCases-_-L0A-_-11146041
LOL, I just realized by "Cool" you were referring to temperature!

Ahh, maybe that's what confused people. I'm saying I don't care how it looks but it must be 'cool'. lol
Thanks for the link. $30 is going to give a better finished product then if I get the dremel out on my current box!

I really like the CM 690 maybe the cheapest expensive looking case. I got them a few years ago when they were blowing them out for 30-45 bucks. Now they are selling them for 69+.
They are the typical large mid tower case with lots of higher end features and that perforated metal look all over the top and front. You would think with all the holes in it there would air flow all over the place but strangely enough Ive found watching for hot spots is critical. I developed all kinds of hot spots with all the cables , drives and cards creating little pockets of hot air that actually caused problems with my hard drives.
These cases have tons of fan mounts so I ended up putting more fans in various spots to get rid of the hot spots and carfefully looking at my add on cards and cables etc to see they were blocking air flow. One thing I really noticed with the current video cards etc -- the PC feels like heater. I have two in one room and you can feel the hot air belching from the units. It really makes a difference on hot humid days where it feels like its actually raising the temp of the room.
