I got one back in October and it lasted about 3 weeks and then shaving afterwards was much easier.

It's painful as hell on the top, but it's not so bad in between your legs believe it or not.

call your salons or spas and they will give you better info. you can go in and talk to someone, don't skimp on it.....you want to pick a very clean business

Honestly, I dunno. $50 is a lot. The only issue I have with shaving is the irritation about 2 or 3 days later. Hurts bad. That and ingrown hairs every once in a while.

The $50+ is SOOOO worth it! Yes, go to a professional, preferably someone who bikini/brazilian waxing is all they do. I had this awesome woman in downtown Chicago who was great. I think it was like $45, about 10-15 min. Very through and didn't make you feel uncomfortable at all. And really, the pain isn't that bad.

And the whole deal with not being able to see "the whole deal" is well... not working in your favor. I thought if I did it in front of a big mirror that I would have both hands free but no. Don't try to do the full thing yourself. You can tidy up the sides and all but not so much the Brazilian.
