How about having a technical help section for the slickdeal items purchased? Then, the help will be sorted instead of being spread throughout the forum. For example: A lot of people need help with the Dell PE400SC to use it as a PC.

Thanks. I thought of this idea because I am currently helping a member with a wireless issue in another forum. When someone needs help with something, they could search that specific forum for solutions.

Agreed. I have had a heck of a time repeating myself and looking for old posts that I have made.
Tech help is an excellent idea for a new forum. Thumbs up!!

One bad side, though. I am already addicted to slickdeals. If this forum is added, I may never leave the site at all!!

Hey everyone I just bought a 400sc... what kind of ram should i put in it? I have some old simms... will those work? What about ISA cards? will those work?

Actually, that is exactly my point. Every time someone asks those same repeated questions, if we have a thread already devoted to the answers, we just link them to the thread. Makes it very nice and easy if we have a forum dedicated to tech help.
Sometimes the help offered in the forum of the deal posting does work best, for example my Medion AMD 2200+ Notebook deal (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9311&highlight=2200) that I posted just before Christmas. There were lots of problems and tech questions in that forum, but it was specific enough to one piece of hardware that it made sense to stay there.
The 400SC does not belong in only one forum because of the frequency of the deals and repetitive nature of the questions. Also the tech discussions on the virtues of AMD and Intel, as well as the various itterations of computer help questions asked all over the place would be well suited for a tech help forum. All these types of questions could be much more easily moderated if there were a forum devoted specifically to tech help.
I thinik it is a fantastic idea.

Mr.Slickdeals is the webmaster and is the only one which can make new forums. Meanwhile we will probably discuss it before it get implemented.
