Well my year is just about up, and rather than getting charged $50 I'd like to find one cheaper if there are any current deals available. I have seen them in the past fo for $30-40 online.

Anybody know of a current deal?

I'm in the same position, looking for a deal on a subscription before mine expires soon. They're more expensive on Ebay than they are on Amazon or Costco!

12+1 card on Newegg.com for $39.99:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16874103030

is free shipping, and no tax in most places. The $30 deals are hit or miss, and I usually jump on them when avaliabe (I almost always have a spare card at home).

No store should charge tax on gold membership/MS points cards. I recently bought a card at Best Buy (I was physically in the store) and there was no tax. Its basically like buying a gift card.

Apparantly they do charge tax (in CA at least) on the Live Gold membership but not on the points cards.

I found a guy on Ebay that's selling them for 37.99 US
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=230348180497

I just completed the transaction, got the code immediately and it's valid. $2 less than retail.. best I can do right now :)

If I see a super deal in the $20/$30 range I plan on buying it since the codes remain valid and using it next year

If you haven't found your xbox live 12 month card, there is a deal for 34$ on buy.com http://www.buy.com/prod/xbox-live-12-month-gold-subscription-card/q/loc/108/211086907.html

I just bought from Newegg a couple days ago for $39.99 w/free shipping. I used my Paypal debit card to pay which gets me 1.5% cashback and then live.com cashback was like another 1% or something. Not as good as this deal but I was tired of waiting and I was only off by a buck or so so I'll live.
